You guys aren't likely hearing about this because of election activities going on at CNN and whatever the hell FOX is showing, but there was another mass shooting today, here in Kansas. Hesston, about fifty minutes to the south of me.

Cedric Ford, a disadvantaged black man, previously from Broward County, Florida where he committed and was convicted of a number of different crimes that should have prevented him from owning a firearm under current law, walked into an Excel Manufacturing plant where he was a painter and began shooting his co-workers with what looks to be an AK.

Depending upon which news you're looking at, there is anywhere from 1-7 dead, and 20-30 injured. Cedric was taken out by first arriving officers. Could have been worse. Over 1,000 people work there.

What a week! This today, at around 5:00. A half-hour before that, the elderly man that lives next door to me died (RIP, Paul), and Monday night, one of my mail customers was (possibly) murdered, (Awaiting autopsy results) just down the street from where my wife and I owned our first house.

Five different crime scenes because of this ass hole.

Been seeing it on the news...........probably to prove that not all mass shootings are the work of muslims.

Bad, bad, deal. Kudos to the LEO that ran past every one streaming out of the building to take care of it right there.

Lucky the LEO was there quickly, or it could have been much worse.

Watched it for a couple of hours, and it never ceases to amaze me how so called intelligent media types can ask the stupidest questions.

Liberal intelligent media types? Oxymoron, dude! First of all, Liberals always throw around aspersions concerning the suspected intelligence of Republicans. Make no bones about it, Republicans are STUPID. Period. At the same time, they give themselves way too much credit for their own intelligence. This has been going on forever, same story, different day.

It is way past time that we should demand "Fair and Balanced"
from journalists and reporters. In other words, they should conceal their personal opinions and their politics a little better.

When even the Associated Press displays liberal leanings, it's painfully obvious that everybody has an asshole and an opinion. This (so called) FOURTH ESTATE has many privileges but risks losing these privileges when they chose sides so blatantly. Is it asking too much, that we get unvarnished truth along with the news? Why must there is a slant with every article? Put opinion on the editorial page where it belongs.

End of rant.

It has been my conviction for many years that a good portion of these psycho shootings would be prevented if the friggin' NEWS didn't make such a big deal out of them.

Okay, how are you going to do that? Don't know?

But, how about a bare bones account on the back page, short and to the point, no photos no breathless TV reporting with the scene as a backdrop.

I think a lot of these assholes just want the whole world; "Hey, look at me!"

But, they build on each other. New, More, Latest breaking! Break a record; most killings in Kansas in the month of February! I blame the Media. They have to exercise some self restraint. No reports from the scene, a mention in the studio, right after the weather and traffic....oh, there was a shooting at a business downtown, this morning. Period.

I know. Never happen. Weez Fuked!

Can't have it both ways. Journalism without an agenda and an agenda to suppress coverage of specific types of news.

Journalism is dead anyway. Very little of it being done, anywhere, by anyone. No money in it anymore.

Hard to say which came first, chicken or the egg, ignorant citizenship or so called news that puts ratings and cronyism above honest reporting. Either way, I don't see any hope for any reversal of the current model back towards real journalism ever happening. Again, no money in it.

And... Really, it has always been this way, in this country, to some extent. The owner of the printing press has always influenced what came off that press. I guess the difference now, is nobody even tries to claim that they are even trying to do journalism. Not with a straight face.

I've got a better idea. Report the tragedy. On-scene footage and everything. When they shooter is ID'd make the following report:

"In Hesston today, local law enforcement officials have advised us that they have identified the shooter at Excel Industries. Turns out nobody gives two shits about who he is, was or anything else about him, except that he's dead.

In other news,....."
