I think the USA is in BIG trouble.

The Senate would roll over and confirm Michelle Obama without a fight if Obama were to appoint her.

This is the worse possible news. Obama gets a 3rd SCOTUS nomination. In the past when a sitting president is a lame duck the nomination is delayed until a new president is elected. I don't look for this to happen.
I can see Orin Hatch pissing all over himself ready to rubber stamp another unqualified liberal to the court.
Scalia, Alito and Thomas were the only reliable conservatives on the court.

Dire circumstances. A replacement WILL be nominated by the potus, and the ensuing battle will be used to influence the coming election along with the philosophy of the supreme court.
weez fucked!

Lets hope the senate refuses to affirm any and all Obama appointees. However, he can still go for a recess appointment; and he has the ego to do it. This is Obama's defining moment for his legacy, changing the court towards progressiveness. Even if the senate doesn't shut down, on Jan 3rd they have to shut down for the semi annual changing of the guard. That would really divide this country.

I couldn't believe it. Nothing good will come of this unfortunate event. As far as Supreme Court Justices go, this man was the most respected conservative and most influential. He will be missed. I am worried!

Me too. The whole situation resembles a lead in to a Clancy novel.....the reality of the situation makes it not so entertaining.

Starting to feel more and more like being in a big wooden ship. And the water is on fire.

This reminds me of the John Grisham novel "The Pelican Brief" where a Supreme Court Justice was killed to install a different Justice to swing the court on an environmental matter as I recall. The timing of Scalia's passing couldn't have occurred at a worse time. I hope they perform a full autopsy and a full toxicology screen, but I doubt it will happen with Loretta Lynch being in charge of justice. If it was a hit, they will cover it up like the IRS vs tea-party scandal, Fast and Furious, and Hillary's email scandal.

Seems like, at the time they said 100 years with the intent that no one who had been around would ever have their curiosity satisfied. I mean, that was actually the word.
Actually, I never did have any use for Kennedy. When I told my father that, I think he was crushed. This was at the time.
But, I have personal reasons. If you know the Bay Of Pigs, you might understand, a little bit. He pulled the same shit leading up to the missile crisis. Look, I was there.
Good hunting. El Bee

I hear you Leonard. I do believe that Kennedy's predecessor, Johnson, was far worse. Killed 40,000 young men in southeast Asia, started the war on poverty and financed these two budget eaters by raiding social security. I often wondered if one of my classmates would still be alive if it wasn't for Johnson.

Yeah, LBJ was a complete asshole. Micromanaging the war, picking targets, etc. Just like fucking Obama!

Hey, this just in:
U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch might be the president's choice to replace Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.
She's the president's top pick according to Tom Goldstein of the highly respected SCOTUSblog, which covers all things relating to the Supreme Court. Goldstein predicts Obama wants a black nominee for the court and writes, "The fact that Lynch was vetted so recently for attorney general also makes it practical for the president to nominate her in relatively short order."
Watch Republican heads explode if he does! He's so clueless, he doesn't understand, she has no chance whatsoever.
Probably thinking of a recess appointment? That won't go over either.
edit: that's the way DICKWEED thinks. Don't select the best man for the job, most qualified. Instead use affirmative action and pick a minority or a Gay or a female for the principle, not who might be the best, most qualified. I think it's a shameful method to select such an important job. Obama thinks HE was the best qualified, smartest man in the room, you know? Doesn't know that he was elected strictly because, BLACK.
imagine Scalia turning over in his grave knowing he will be succeeded by an unqualified liberal black woman. And, the republicans, (NO BALLS) won't dare to oppose her for fear of being labeled RACISTS !

My view on this matter.
If a judge or a prosecutor was doing something like Obama will be doing picking a SCOTUS Judge, they would lose their job and their license to practice law because of ethics violations. This is a case of not the Fox guarding the hen house, but instead it is a case of the Fox picking the hen house guard. Go back to Fast and Furious. Obama stopped Darrell Issa's investigation into Fast and Furious claiming Executive Privileged, and Darrell Issa file a lawsuit to make Obama turn over the files. An Obama appointed District Court Judge, Amy Jackson, ruled against Obama's assertion of Executive Privilege. Does anyone believe this won't be a discussed issue with the new candidate? Does anyone believe the Obama administration won't take it all the way up to SCOTUS? The claimer of being the most transparent administration ever has something to hide about something very illegal and deadly to hundreds of Mexicans and one boarder patrol officer. The American people and the Mexican Government deserve answers.
