I don't know if any of you guys were members of the VHA before they went belly-up last summer, but I got a letter from some lawyer in South Dakota that I said I could file a claim to get some of the "distribution"
Anyhow, as I read down the letter my part is expected to be "less than $2.00"
Where am I going to spend it all???
I think I'll let somebody else have my share....

That's the farce of the whole class action "industry". It's always settled for $50 million or so, with the bastard lawyer getting $49 and the rest of the chumps splitting $1 million. It's lawyer welfare.
I forget the ratio, but once heard that we have way more lawyers than any other country. Guess that's why community organizers run for president; nobody left to sue?
I get a check once in a while for something, best one, most ever was fifty bucks because Remington sold me a defective barrel. Hasn't blown up yet? I am sorry I cashed it.

I don't know how to break it to these legal eagles, but. When a corporation declares bankruptcy, they list assets against liabilities. Essentially, they have no money so there is no point in suing them, is there?
So, if they owe rent on the building and printing fees and whoever mails their very nice magazines, and they might owe writers and editors, you get the idea?
After the above get a piece of whatever assets remaining, do yo think there will be something left over for the subscribers? Doubtful.
Whoever is behind this is a fucking jerk. Talk about kicking somebody when they are down! I would hope the prick gets exactly nothing!

PS also, it's a shame, Varmint Hunter was one of the few really quality magazines in print. What killed them was the fucking Internet.
