Daughter and I finished the OKC bombing memorial half marathon. She beat me by 7 minutes but that's ok.

Hardest thing I've ever done but I did it.

Great job to both of you!!
I was planning the same thing with my daughter at a local run this spring.
BTW, that's a facinating and moving memorial, I've been there.

Very good! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.
I bet you won your age group!
My old girlfriend used to be awesome at that stuff. She could literally get up off the couch and at least win her age group. I knew her when she was married to my cousin and she could outrun me then...probably age 22-23 or so? Some people can excel and like me can't, with flat feet and an artificial knee, I have no business walking any distance, much less running.

Outstanding !!!!!
I can walk forever but probably couldn't jog from here to the corner and back.

Thanks guys.
Yes the Memorial is a real emotional place, every time I walk through the chairs and come across the little ones, my eyes sweat.
No Leonard I was 171 out of 327 in the 50-54 age group. I started too far back and had to weave my way through this crowd the first mile and a half or so. Really added distance and time to my results but I'm not complaining. It took me 13 minutes to reach the starting line after the horn sounded.

My view at the start.

Man, that's impressive, as hell, to me!
I'm also in the "walk pretty good" but "can't run 50 yards" camp.
Have been to the Memorial a few times, very emotional place, for sure. I was on the phone with a girl in Edmond when it happened, she heard/felt it and interrupted me to say "oh my god!". Had no idea what had just happened, but she seemed pretty sure it must have been something pretty bad. Bad enough she begged off the call to find out.

I might add - I don't think I could even walk very good, in Oklahoma summer weather! That humidity just knocks my dick in the dirt.

Very cool feat! That is certainly an accomplishment.
Have been to the memorial once, very sobering.
I was out of banking for a while and running a car dealership when that happened. My boss was at the Oklahoma City Auto Auction when it happened. They were 5 miles from there, and he said the ground shook like hell.
Glad that something good has come out of that horrible time.
