My brother is always making neat stuff, and he decided to make a couple traps. He even made the springs and tempered the steel. I think these are out of Stainless.

Come on Dan, lets not pretend like you could resist the urge...... how bad did it hurt your fingers???

You have no idea how much I thought about putting a band-aide on my finger before taking the pic. I guess it might sting a little.
Good grief JD, where ya been hiding?
I remember when I got the Tritronics trashbreaker collar for Gracie, I had to zap myself with it first before putting it on her. Like the dirty Harry scene, "I got's to know".

Cool !!!
Greetings to your brother; (I think his name is John, but the memory..........)
Anyway, the next time he gets bored, round up some 10-22 barrels and have him build us a .22 lr Gatling Gun.
And bring it to the next camp-out !!!!!!

Time on his hands, eh? So, he wasn't "on the clock"?
edit: I'd go ahead and sacrifice a #2 pencil before sticking my finger in there, band aid or no band aid.

Koko, his company has a strict no gun policy. Believe me, if it didn't there would be a slew of other things getting built. Yes your memory hasn't faded, it is John.
LB, I was never going to put my finger in there, I am not the type who has to pee on the electric fence to find out.
My brother's boss is pretty cool though. As long as he gets company work done, quickly and correctly first, there is sort of an understanding, if you will.
These traps obviously have no useful purpose, but was/is just kinda cool.
Was 2 degrees and some fresh snow this morning. The weather is holding up some construction here and I am staying home because of it. C'mon spring, besides I am wanting to do some bass fishing again.

I wish I knew what he knows about metals, machining and heat treating/tempering. I use to work with a guy that was a 20 year Air Force Retiree who worked as a machinist at the special weapons lab at Los Alamos New Mexico, he impressed me several times with his abilities. He seldom knew what he was working on. Just knew the specs for the one part he was making.
