Sunrise or sunset? Beautiful either way.
Though it got me thinking about the old saying, "red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning".

That's a great photo, Troy.
When it comes to sunsets though, it's hard to beat New Mexico. Not "better" than the above, but you see many and it's definitely worth the price of admission.
For that matter, you want awesome Mother Nature? The Northern Lights blow me away! Add some wolf howls and it can't hardly get any better.
Good hunting. El Bee
PS and yes, I finally got my Internet connection up and running/fuck Verizon!

Where in Montana is that?
Dunno about N.M. but you can get some pretty pretty sunrises/sunsets in Fl. (I have some pics somewhere about as good as the one above that I took in Yellowstone one year heading back to camp at the Madison campground from West Yellowstone.)
Yes, Leonard, Northern Lights accompanied by wolf howls would be the bomb diggity!!! (Seeing the Northern Lights is on my bucket list.)
Glad you got your internet back in service. I play World of Tanks and if mine was down for any length of time I would get real testy.
(Ok, I just looked at that pic again, and it is significantly better than mine, I think. I'll look for mine if I get a chance.) [ November 09, 2013, 07:51 PM: Message edited by: DEL GUE ]

Well, my nightmare began with a bill from Verizon for $186. I was told that they had not received a payment since July which got me excited. Well, eventually I found out that my billpay service was stashing my payments into an account opened by my wife probably 15 years ago. After we got it straightened out, I have a credit of $46 and don't need to make a payment until December, depending on how much it is.
Anyway, in the course of the discussion, they asked to speak to the primary account holder and I said that would be me. But, thinking about it, I mentioned "Nancy" but said she died seven years ago.
That was a big mistake because without even telling me what the situation was, they closed the account, apparently a standard policy when the primary account holder is deceased.
I managed to get the phone connection restored but an order for Internet connection is somehow a lot more complicated. I was on the phone for hours and talked to 7 or 8 different people, none of them knew what the hell they were talking about but that didn't stop them from making promises they couldn't keep.
Wednesday I got a call with good news, they could restore my service on Friday. I said they could forget it because I could get service from somebody else on Thursday. That turned out to be not true because I didn't actually get it until today.
But, fuck Verizon and as soon as I get the credit next month I will cancel the land line for spite. There has to be a more competent telephone company and I will find it.
And, my connection is 15 times faster. Them assholes!
Why does this shit happen to me?
Good hunting. El Bee

Our Arizona sunrise is not usually as vivid as the one posted from Montana...but our sunsets; well you could pour ten Montana sunsets in one of Arizonas, and not fill it up. We have more gorgeous ones in both number and width of horizon and color than any place Ive ever seen.

Hey Krusty; I remember that morning. It was one of five days in a row that it didn't rain. They still call it the drought of '08. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

That's absolutely the truth. Summers in coastal Washington consist of two weeks in July.
I remember getting off the plane once, wearing typical SoCal garb and waiting in a kiosk for the shuttle. We looked like idiots in a downpour.
A few months later, I went to every department store looking for a rain coat in the summertime. A stroke of genius sent me to one of those Outlet Malls and a London Fog store where I was so happy to find a nice rain coat. But, that was when I didn't know about the two weeks in July. And, again, I looked a bit strange in my raingear on a balmy July afternoon.
Me and the northwest coast do not mix well. As it should be.

It was a sunrise not a sunset. The photo was taken in southwest Montana.
I grew up my elementary years in Arizona and they do have great sunsets and sunrises. However, you couldn't drag me back to live there with a team of a thousand horses. It's not the Arizona I grew up in anymore. I don't mind visiting, but living there anymore...NO WAY!

CA is the same shit! Used to be okay, don't ask what fucked it up. LB
I know AZ Highways and sunrise and sunsets but for my money, the New Mexico sunsets are indescribable.

Some GREAT sunrise and sunset pics here. Thanks for posting 'em.
Not sure where I'd rate the best I've seen. But the Great Salt Lake produces some great sunsets. I live out in the mosquito breeding habitat in the marsh, with the other poor folks, so I get to see them often. And frequently with camera near. But I've never bothered to snap a picture. Won't do the scene justice, so I figure I may as well just enjoy it and not even try.
Maybe I'll give it a shot anyway, one of these days.

Del; I've tried to convince Tim to do a telephoto shot of the full moon and superimpose it into one of his snowscapes, but Tim is somewhat...........stubborn.
Tim; I'll try to get your dvds shipped out this week. I also picked up one on bass fishing at the swap meet. It's yours if you want it.
