Not only is the Federal Government monitoring all your communications, key strokes, and telephone conversations....we now have the Federal government in the driver's seat. Yes, the driver's seat of your own personally owned vehicle!

A new Federal law requires black boxes to be installed in all motor vehicles after 2014. This so the Federal government can monitor not only your personal communications but all your activities including those practiced in your private vehicles.

The information thus developed would be made available (among many other uses) to private insurance companies to raise your insurance rates.

Welcome to the new Police State! I hope the American asshole enjoys it!

This country is gone....don't you see that now?

most new vehicles are already equiped with such,...now it will only be mandated. And from my understanding, this has nothing to do with monitering your communications, but rather monitering your driving, particularly the moments before a crash so that the info. could be used in a way to determine what your vehicle was doing such as braking, accelerating, skidding, etc. before a crash.

A good reason to by used.

trnco is correct. Crash Data Retrival(CDR) has been around for quite a while. I believe it was around about 10 years ago when it was first installed on just a few cars.

I know bosch makes a scanner for CDR.

Within the first three pages of the pdf link it says CDR was first made available to the public in 2000. I know it was about 10 years ago that Bosch bought out vetronix and vetronix mad crd scanners.

might help if I add the link

Yeah, but I think the distinction is passing a fucking law making it mandatory. And, sure as hell, your insurance co. will be allowed to review the data and discover that Geordie always drives the Interstate at 85MPH, and executes a "California Roll" anytime he thinks he can get away with it. These are the things that they want to know about how Okies drive and make them pay accordingly.

This is an invasion of privacy issue. Not enough that they monitor every fucking keystroke on your PC and smart phone, they want to know everything you do, in hopes of nailing you for some "infraction" like picking your nose in the fast lane. The Brave New World is here.

I remember going to a militia meeting in the mid 80's with a friend and they were talking about the government will be putting black boxes in your car like a plane. They went on to state it will be mandatory because they will one day have the technology to listen in and shut down your vehicle. I remember way back then thinking these guys were a bunch of loonies.

There was several other things in those meetings that seemed so far-fetched, but have now came true. There is NO reason on earth to make this mandatory other than to use the info against you and your fellow Americans.

OK, I googled 'California roll' , and am pretty sure eating a rolled up piece of raw fish while driving isn't illegal.....yet. This draws me to the conclusion that it is probably some reckless high speed fancy driving maneuver performed by adolescent mentalities while holding a beer. Lock me up now.

Not quite, Geordie. It's just rolling up to a stop sign without coming to a complete stop. When nobody is around, ya know? A chickenshit cop just loves to write such a moving violation.

Jethro Bodine taught ya'll the California Roll, don't you remember LB? One of the early episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies showed Jethro doing just what his momma told him to do, "get rid of them bad brakes!" He did, took'em off and the truck was never the same.

Hey, I knew there was something about those Beverley Hillbillies! Were they Okies, by chance? Only, with shoes?

I asked Karen about living in Oklahoma and she was not (at all) in favor. Claims the weather is terrible humid, tornados all summer long; don't know how her brother and his family stands it? No thank you! Plus, there's always Geordie bombing down the Interstate. How he can stand to ride with AR, I don't know?

Good hunting. LB

TA, that's exactly what I used to say wayyyy back when I was called into the black.

What I have learned since is your political positions, once considered normal, can become against the new wisdom.

In other words, when I was in the black it was considered normal to be against homosexuality.

Nowadays, if you are against homosexuality or even the presence of Arabs in your nuclear bomb unit you will be labeled un-American and loose your job.

You may even be investigated and maybe drummed out of the military or the black services. You loose your job if you don't practice the current political correctness. And it's the media which drives political correctness....not the services despite what you may have been taught.

Your innocence and subsequent willingness to be searched or investigated is just what they want. You had better tow the correct political line or you loose your job. It's a well known stupidity of youth.... and trust me, well taken advantage of.

I once saw a guy get the shit kicked outta him while in country. It wasn't even politically related........... he was trying to protect the honor of his wife who was with him. While in the hospital bed the "leader" came by and handed him an airline ticket and said "when you get out of this bed you WILL take this flight back home".

All his personal effect were gathered together and sent to him months later. He was totally within his rights but it didn't matter. You piss of the wrong people, no matter how politically correct you are, you can find yourself on the street without a job.

Its still normal to be against it and if its a problem just sit on the other side of the room.. LOL

Its not un-American, its called racist. Simple solution just learn to get along while on the job and then after work go do your thing. Its not that hard.. Ha ha

What I'm trying to get across is understanding of situations like Nidal Hassan who shot up Ft Hood. He was a muslim officer in the US military and no one dared take a stand against him because it was (is) career suicide to be opposed to a muslim in our armed forces. This is a pure example of political correctness which has caused the death of American soldiers....not only in this case but in others when the muslim turned on his fellow soldiers.

The whole situation is so fucking stupid that anyone who practices this kind of political correctness deserves what they get.

Actually guys, there was at least one other muzzie murderer in the US Military during this war. Seems like it was in 2003, a translator/ soldier fragged a tent full of our guys. That motherfucker got the shaft for treason, unlike hassan's "work place violence". In all fairness Frank, we (U.S.) used nips and germans as translators during WWII. And most noteworthy was the Plains Indians as Scouts etc. during the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, Civil War and WWII. It just (to me) seems magnified with the bowing & apologizing coon in office now.

My mother-in-law married a Japanese guy.
Good guy really,...kinda lazy,...but an absolute hunting machine.
Anyway, his dad was an interpreter IN the army in WWII.
At the same time,...his wife was in one of those internment camps. I always kind of found that sadly ironic.

But, there again, a corollary to Frank's railing against Islamists, and that they don't belong in a position of trust much less free rent, free food, scholarships and pressure cookers.

The country was paranoid about a 5th column of Germans, Italians and especially Japanese during WWII. Everybody felt they would be loyal to their homeland and even if they weren't, better safe than sorry.

I actually think they are more against us than for us, mainly because they are silent about the brutal killing of innocent civilians. You have the terrorists and those that claim to be peaceful, but they never condemn the bombings and killing of innocent people by fanatics. Seems to me, they should police their own, but they don't.

As far as the Japs, yeah it was wrong but it's hard to understand the fear back in the 40's. The government felt they had to do it, if for no other reason than to protect the japanese from retribution of those who lost loved ones at the hands of Japan's Army and Navy.

Anyway, it's kind of the same thing right now and why a lot of people look suspiciously at those that dress weird. Imagine, taking a driver's license photo in a burka?

I admit it. I give those people the fish eye in stores, etc. And, meanwhile, the Media, the Liberals and our government, (the Obama Administration) are bending over backwards to accommodate them. They don't seem to notice what is going on in Europe, Mosques everywhere, and none of them work! WTF?

Good hunting. El Bee

Pretty tuff to do no matter what color the guy is and if you was full time military instead of just a contractor you would know this....

It seems like people (whites) only remember the bad deals when done by a non-white and vise versa.. Frank check into the B-52 (buff) incident that took place at G.F. air base back in early 80's and while your at it the Lima incident (launch control facility) around the same time.

Hey Tim, don't blame the whites. Just because you stand in line for the freebee's doesn't make your skin change color. We ain't all the same, and never will be. Banana breath has spent 5 years pouting about the evil white man, po lil traYvon and all the other shit written in his books. Like MVHR said, roll your windows down and drive thru inner city Detroit and tell them all "we're all the same". Go to Ft Riley and remind everyone "we're all the same". Better yet walk down martin luther king ave in NE OKC and give your speech.
