I have a bad habit of watching most of the predator hunting stuff on tv. Some I just cannot stand, but watch it like I would a train wreck. Some are ok and some are pretty good.

I would have to say my favorite is probly Carnivore. I just like the pace the show has, and I like the country they call. Great camera work too. I know a couple more are coming out including Criners. Interested in seeing that.

Anyone else watch much?

I am not familiar with Carnivore, but the predator calling shows I have seen are pretty much all alike.

Along the same lines expressed by Rich, I watch these shows so infrequently that I don't deserve an opinion. But hey, y'all are dying to know what I think so here it is. I have met and competed against Les Johnson and he's the real deal. I like his attitude. Full disclosure, I have not watched any other predator hunting show, generally, after ten minutes I'm out watering the lawn.

I watch some of Les shows from time to time reminds me of S.D. coyote calling..
Seen two of Criners shows, one was enough but thought perhaps the second would be better. Nope!
For some good laughs Fred E. show can't be beat.

The most important thing to know about these coyote calling shows is to realize that having access to property that holds a good population of virgin eared coyotes is the key. It seems to me that "where" you call is much more important than which sounds you use while calling.

I will now test my new Bullshit meter.

I think where you call is more important than the sounds whether public, private, TV show or a deep dark secret.

Haven't ever really watched any of the shows. About one and part of another of Les's show and about the same for the FoxPro show.

Just can't hardly stand to watch any of that stuff on TV/Video anymore though. At one time, like when there were still less than about 30 of them, I think I had every predator hunting video ever made and enjoyed watching them. But by the time I got done trying to make a couple of them, I couldn't stand to watch any of them anymore - especially not the ones I made.

Back in the day though, I used to love watching Don Laubach and Randy Anderson's first couple videos. Those were great. Kind of like Led Zeppelin though, it was/is GREAT, but I'm totally husked on it, just too many reps, can't stand to hear/see it anymore.

It has to be "dead dog walking away". Yes I am kidding, I think that show is a joke and an insult to predator hunters, but that's just my opinion.

Les Johnson, would have to be the better of the bunch, I'd guess.

I very rarely watch as I can't stand the way these guys come across. Like they are gods gift to the hunting world and the rest of us are dummies.
I would rather watch the scenery and NOT hear the BS music and them talking and fist pumping.
I can't totally get serious about some fat assed guy that calls himself a hunter and sounds like a freight train when he walks and talks.
I've gotten very bored with the hunting/calling shows.
No, I'm not skinny and a marathon runner. But at least I've know how to hunt and call and have been around it and doing since I could walk.

I know Les Personally, and like Leonard said, he is the real deal. If you just happened into him at a country gas+grocery store you'd think he was just a local guy that loves hunting coyotes. Hmmm, come to think of it that is where I met with Les the last time we talked in person. He truly loves to coyote hunt and never takes for granted that he gets to make a living from it. While he may have access to quality private land he also hunts anywhere he might have a chance at killing coyotes. It ain't all exclusive places like some think. I've hunted some of the same ranches in Montana that he's hunted. When I did, I was with his camera man and another Predator Quest Pro-Staffer. It was tough hunting. Heck, I'll stick with what I have right out my back door, so to speak, rather than drive back up that area Les hunts frequently. Whether he has the "best" predator hunting show or not is subjective to one's likes and dislikes. However, I do know he does his best to make the best show he knows how to make. I like them, and he is a good guy, so I wish him all the success in the world.

I'll watch any of them until the first commercial comes on, which usually happens pretty fast. Sometimes they transition from program to commercial so slickly it's hard to tell. I'd rather watch Youtube clips than any of the shows.

For me, it boils down to the host(s) personality. If I can see myself having fun hunting with the dude(s), I will watch the show or buy their video...

I admit that I haven't seen very many episodes of any one of the shows. I seem to find a bone to pick at with all of them. Carnivore wasn't bad when I saw it and I can sit through Les's, although I wish he'd get a frickin' tri-pod under that video camera for better quality footage.
I watched Dead Dog Walking once, and wondered just how the hell did they make it on TV. It sucked just that bad.
Just like all the other hunting shows these days, just too much advertisement for me to make it through a 30 minute show any more. And damn, when will they stop coming back from commercial and showing the same damn footage that they showed right before going to commercial. Do they think out memorys are that short or what. lol TR exactly. One of my 3 pet peeves with hunting shows. Waste of time. The other two are whispering and ssslllooowww motion repeat of the shot.

Dead Dog Walking is THE worst of the worst. A complete and total waste of precious airtime imo.

As DVD's go I do like Verminator's and Randy Anderson's. They have the best filming and usually just enough humor to keep me watching. Verminator's does have one little white bearded guy that is kind of a character though. [Wink]

the slow mo's don't bother me sometimes, because after the shot I'll always think something like, "Oh nice shot", or "oops, that one's gonna be a runner", and sometimes upon slow mo, I see that I was either wrong, or I was right. For some reason, I just like to see the impact point, and the reaction it gets. Pretty much the same reaction from each particular impact point, but sometimes I find myself surprised at the reaction from a certain impact. For instance, heart shot coyotes can sometimes take off like the wind, almost like a clean miss, but yet they're running dead and hardly show it.

Troy, you might not recognize me these days. Last year I didn't grow a beard for the first time in like....forever, 'cause it's so white it makes me look like an 'ol man,....and I ain't that old...........yet..... [Cool]
