I read the thread on another board about your bad dealings with a dog seller. Sorry to hear it happen.. I know Devin said a buyer or seller should look into each before making any deals, but you shouldn't have to after all Devin recommended the dog seller to start with.. There are some bad posts floating around on him as well(Devin) so watch who you deal with or talk to...
As for getting the papers on the dog not sure how it works with them but I know when I got a pure-breed GSP the owner of my dog gave me the app. with his info on it and all I had to do was add mine and send it off.. Hope all works out for you and you get the papers or some of your money back....
A non papered dog is worth about 125.00 regardless of the breeding.. [ June 22, 2013, 10:18 PM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

We are getting it figured out, and actually Devin has been more than helpful. He didn't recommend anything, just knew where there were some dogs.

I have a papered male that I've had for several years, and I'm half owner in a year and a half old female and I bought this female puppy. I'm going into the Jagd terrier business I guess.

Good deal and hope all goes well. From looking around there seems to be a market for them for hunting and non hunting.. Make sure to spend time with any new pups you have in the future.. My newest dog I got the owner said he spent time with his pups but when I got it home I found that the only time he spent with them was to walk in the kennel and put food and water out for them.. Wild little female that took a lot of time to get her to where I want with out her going ballistic from the sound of a pin drop. That's something I will look more closely at in the future if I add another dog... Have fun with the pup..

Hey Cal; Here's an idea; Name your dog `Five Miles`. Then you can tell people that you walk 5 miles every day. BwaaaHaaaaHaaaaa!!!!!!!!
Ok..........I'll go quietly.

3 toes, Be sure to listen when Timmy speaks as he is the last word concerning tolling dogs. I,m pretty sure that scot would be glad to let your new pup learn from HIS dogs, but Timmy hasn't yet mentioned it so maybe it isn't a good idea.

That's the joyous thing about TA, he can't help himself. He posts a couple normal posts and then he can't stand it and has to post some advice I didn't ask for and don't need. He did the same on Hubers shooting rest thread. As for dogs, I have some good ones right now. I have a female cur that is as good or better than anything I have ever owned, a younger male that is fair and still have my old dog I call Gage. Don't need help in that department. Scott is trying to get a dog going for work out here, and I don't envy him in trying to get one started. It can be tough. I have had a Jagd for a few years and if nothing else he has entertained me more than any dog ever. I have had numerous people wanting one after being around mine, so I decided to raise a few. It may or may not work out. They are hard to find, and pretty damn expensive, but now I am set up with some to breed to my male so we will see how it goes.

Rich dogs are just that dogs, if a person can teach one to do something he can teach it (train) to do other things, its not that hard just takes time. As far as training a dog goes I have trained my own coon hounds, bird dogs, and coyote hounds with out the use of another dog to teach them.. Even got my new hound doing a little decoy work just to keep busy but that will stop come fall..
There you go again Cal jumping the gun, I wasn't giving you any advice but just saying. To be honest I wouldn't give you any advice even if you asked...

"make sure and spend time with any pups you have in the future".....
Your advice.
Unwanted and unneeded.
I've raised plenty of pups.
If I ever get around to needing any advice on unemployment claims or something you know about, I'll let you know. [ June 24, 2013, 08:06 PM: Message edited by: 3 Toes ]

It wasn't advice, just chit chat or a opinion like the time we talked about the 20x47 Lapua through a p.m..

Tim, you are getting under my skin. I can only imagine the degree to which you are irritating Calvin.
A word of advice, KNOCK IT OFF!
Your rehabilitation is far from complete, you are still on a short leash, Amigo.
Everybody wants your scalp on my lodge pole. <yuck> Quit giving them reasons, more reasons, abundant reasons, no jury on earth would find fault if I lost patience.

Cal,
I hope you post how those dogs work out. I keep thinking about a Jagd or a Cur, or a cross of sorts. I like my Airedale but am looking for a dog in the 35-40lb range.
My needs are a lot simpler, being I don't do Spring or summer calling or den work, or run traplines. Just a recreational caller, but I do enjoy my dog with me when I call.
So what is the opinion of most here on tolling dogs? Do they hurt callers, by running off more coyotes than they toll in?

If you are in the same boat as I am, Dan. Then, I assume you don't fringe too many, but when you have a cripple, especially at last light, a dog really comes in handy. Other than that. they can be a companion and a pain in the ass. Take your pick.
Good hunting. LB

Yes LB, I think you pegged it.
I've had dogs most of my life, but I have never really trained one for hunting, much less tolling to be more specific. So, that will be a learning experience perhaps for the pup I, eventually when I get another dog.
I don't really plan on getting a pup for a couple years, so there is some time to research it.

I picked up that dog for Cal and after spending two days with her I didn't want to send her to Wyoming. I didn't hunt her but I'm getting one!

Brad (or Cal), where did the dog come from? I know of a couple people here in OK who have jagd terriers.

Actually two different dogs. The dog Brad picked up is a year and a half old female from a guy in southern OK. My wife brought it home from there. The other dog is a female from CO. That is about 4 months old. My friend Cenny Burnell is hunting the dog from Oklahoma right now and they are getting along good. We have plans to breed her to my male as soon as she comes in. The Colorado female is just a puppy and is hell on wheels. She is a true Jagd and into and under everything. The only thing that has whipped her so far is Hubers 40 lb house cat.
