Very nice photos Dave.
I'm lucky to see that many deer in a season.

Nice!!!!!!
I haven't seen bucks like that since I bowhunted out of Moab back in the day.

I always seemed to get the bucks with the torn ears in my taxi shop. Just seeing the ears on some of them made me cringe. LOL Beautiful deer. I especially like the one with the small buck and two does stacked atop his head behind him.

Dave; I have no idea what you do for a living, but Ido know what you SHOULD, be doing for a living.
You have graced us with some of the finest outdoor photos of honest to goodness wild, free roaming wildlife I believe Ive laid eyes on.
Your photos are evidence of your passion and joy of photography....your missing the boat by not finding a market for your skills buddy.

That is one fantastic collection of mule deer photographs. Very impressive! Do you have a website where a guy could view more of your work?

Holy shit Dave those are some nice photos! As always, so clear and in many ways so unique.

This photo thing is right up your alley.

That sagging-eared buck looks like he might be old enough to vote!

Thanks for some terrific photographs, Dave. Makes me want to "deer" hunt Utah this year, for some strange reason? You did say all these were taken in open management areas, right?

Good hunting. El Bee

Leonard, the whole state of Utah is by draw only these days - if you don't have your tag already, I think you're too late for this year? Broken up into I can't even remember how many units. A couple dozen, at least. All these pictures are on the premium, hard to draw units, naturally. But, they are on public land and they do get hunted every year.

Koko, the La Sals are my normal haunts. Been doing nearly all my bowhunting there for a little over 20 years now. I know that when I started going there, it was nothing like the glory days. And I also know that now, it isn't anything like it was even just 20 years ago. I think the only reason I still go, is out of habit and tradition. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE bowhunting mule deer, like it even more than calling coyotes. And the hunting is still pretty good there, for small deer, with the very occasional nice one showing up. But between the crowds of people, the logging, the ATV's, the deer just getting fewer and smaller, it really just ain't anything like it used to be.

Lonny, I really think that flop eared toad is probably the biggest bodied mule deer I've ever seen, dead or alive! I posted a picture of him on NPHA last year just to get other guys guesses on how big he is. I think he could be crowding 400 pounds? Definitely north of 300 I think? His antlers are over 30", if that helps in the judging!

Really appreciate all the compliments from you guys. I sell a few prints here and there, but don't actively market them (don't have a website), so don't make any money off of my pictures. The fun is largely just sharing them and knowing others enjoy them as much as I do.

Actually, finding myself kind of short on both time and gas money this year, won't be able to get as many as I did last year. Still plan on trying to get a few starting next month though.

Dave you brought back a ton of memories for me when you mentioned the La Sals. I did 90% of my bowhunting as a young man in the Manti La Sals. It was good the first few years and then went steadily down hill.

You just let me know when the mule deer calendar becomes available. Sorry Kings, suck it.
