Nancy died seven years ago, today. Highs and lows, but how do you get over such a wonderful woman, wife and mother?
I miss her. Always will.
Good hunting. LB

We were together 46 years and I was the luckiest man alive.
My eyes are getting a little watery. Hard day for me. LB

Yeah I too remember it, like it was yesterday.
My condolences, again.

I'm sorry Leonard. The say time heals all wounds. Not so much. It goes without saying how lucky a man you were, and are, to have had her in your life, and your memories.

Your memories of her are priceless LB, even though this one is painful it's still good to remember someone so loved by so many..... those memories are testament to a true blessing that many people may never have the chance to experience in their lives.... I'm sorry for your loss and the pain you feel but I envy your 46 years, I'm at 28 years next month and can only hope to be blessed with that many more with my wife.

Nanc used to read the Board. I was surprised to know that, since she had zero interest in hunting or firearms.
Somebody asked her why she did, even to the point of contacting members via email, (like Krusty) and she said it was the only way she could keep up on what I was up to.
What she meant was that I might be planning a hunt far in advance, never mentioned it to her, but she would read about it on Huntmasters. Or, I might talk about a new gun! (gulp)
Nanc never understood the need for more guns? And, I couldn't justify it so we didn't talk about it. She never saw money spent on guns, I always carried a couple thousand dollars in my purse specifically for firearms, kind of off the books. A game, actually, because I never got anything past her. She would talk to the kids and tell them that I thought I was being sneaky, but she knew what was going on.
That was the only aspect of our relationship that was not completely open, (buying guns), because I understood it was selfish, she knew I knew it, but indulged my weakness with humor and grace. Maybe she thought it was relatively harmless, at least I was not drinking, gambling or chasing women.
On the other hand, I have never seen a more confident, self assured, approachable woman. She had no flaws, no hangups and I always marveled at the way she could light up a room, just by entering. And, she was always noticed. It was the million dollar smile.
What a Babe she was.

Leonard,
I was truly honored to have Nancy as a pen pal.
Truth be known, I give her a large part of the credit for my ability to turn over a new leaf here.
Her intuition and compassion was impressive. I'd get to feeling beaten down, by all this internet stuff, and she'd remind me to laugh at myself or compliment me for my ability to hang in there (*right when I didn't think I could do either of those anymore).
Her passing hit me really hard and it still hurts when I'm reminded of it.
I too was and am very lucky to have had her in my life, if only for a very short time.
