As a fully qualified old fart Leonard I wouldn't argue but would add CCR,ZZ Top and Aerosmith.
Probably also the band Bearhunter had play at our season ending 'fur party' last week. Can't think of their name but here's some film shot at Bear's place during the party.
Bear was imbibing 'Whisky in the Jaro' while I was in 'Mollys Chamber'.

Bear needs to learn to throw a party. Looks like a real snore fest.

That band resembles a cleaned up, sold out version of some old bunch whose name I can't remember.

Wow, Koko. Mingo, really?

I think PETA lures a lot of people (including famous types) in without them fully understanding what nut job fanatics they really are. I thought Carrie Underwood's affiliation was going to kill her career, but she managed to weasel out of it. Emmy Lou fans (except you) don't care.

I had a substitute teacher for an extended period of time in sixth grade. Pretty much all we did was listen to music while she was in our class. I was lucky to be chosen as the disc jockey and remember playing this over and over...

Inna Godda Devida

You whippersnappers ought to appreciate a dose of real "how it used to be".

Finally Tom posted a decent band. Cross Canadian Ragweed ( now defunct) was a great one. Cody Canada and the Departed now are pretty good. I saw them last year. Stoney Larue is pretty good too. Greatest of all time has to be AC/DC. They really don't have any competition.

Posted by Cayotaytalker (Member # 1954) on April 12, 2013, 05:51 AM:

CCR had abit of an early 70's sound.Seams I got to check out Stoney Larue on You Tube.Hank 3 can be good at times can be little hard to take.
I was on a road job in Vegas an older hippy sort of a guy would roll in in the morning and would have Boys From Oklahoma playing. I just thought this guy was an old burnout playing something from the 70's cause I thought Boys From Oklahoma was or might have been wrote and sung by Garry P. Nunn or what ever.Dont know this to be ture but CCR was around for at least 12 years and did at lest six records. I thought all there songs were old stuff from the 70's.

Posted by Cayotaytalker (Member # 1954) on April 12, 2013, 06:22 AM:

CCR did songs like Lighthouse keeper and The pressident Song, When I first heard these guys Like I said did'nt have a clue these were new songs.
Just got done checking Stoney Larue out on YouTube yes he kicks ass.
There is a young guy out there Adam Hood that I like. And check out Bliltzen Trapper very early Dylan like at least I like the lyrics I mean they flow will well. Check out: Black River Killer.

Probably doing 70mph.I used to race the damn things cross country and a couple times unintentionally crossed a few yards(25?)of open water but this is unreal.I guess you're good to go with speed and no 'throttling',just steady, til your belt gets soaked through.

I heard an interview with AC/DC once, and the guy giving the interview said something along the lines of...
"Most of your songs are based on the same guitar riff"

Angus Young's reply was...
"Well it's a bloody good riff man"... [Smile]

ONE of the best? I prefer arguably THE best.

Rumor has it that Eddie used to play with his back to the audience back in the early club days so nobody could see how he played. Turns out it didn't make any difference. Everybody's seen it and they still can't do it.

In case anybody wants to see how he does it, here ya go. Give it a try.

That's the thing about true guitar gods. The best all have their own unique style that sets them apart. Eddie probably couldn't do justice to Kirk's riffs, and vice versa. I love Metallica, but....
