April 1st. [Wink]

Looks like nobody's falling for it? But, they should. It's happened. One time in Orange County, a pair of coyotes tried to pull a man off his horse. Another case in Phoenix, coyote walks in the back door and tries to carry off a toddler.

Oh, and what about the time I was charged in ass deep snow by a wounded coyote. I broke a shotgun over his head. (first, and only birdshot didn't do shit)

And, that ain't no April Fool's joke.

Good hunting. El Bee

You know what irritates me? Probably not, but I'll tell you anyway.

When recreational predator hunters claim they only hunt because they are doing a service for humanity or other animals.
"I'm saving deer, I'm saving turkeys, I'm saving kids and pets and there's too many of them and..." Fuck you! Maybe one in 1000 hunters actually believes that and is the sole reason they hunt them.

Most hunt them because they like to see one come in alive and leave dead. The thrill of it coming in, shooting it in the face and the challenge of it. Fuck all that PC bullshit about saving other animals; they're just lame excuses thought up to appease your opposition.

Here's one I always hear: "My daddy told me that if I kill it, I have to eat it. So, are you gonna eat the coyote? "

Shut up you ignorant fuck! Your daddy was an asshole!

I'm so sick of people that claim to hate PC bullshit and then fall right in line with these douche bags to make themselves feel better about killing an animal. Tell the truth on why you hunt these animals...

Leonard, everybody fell for it.Nobody fess's up that's all.The bird shot story kills me.And,speaking of killing,Chris how do they 'leave dead'.Maybe some sort of levitation deal?
Finally,I think Chris is doing a great job as Facebook moderator, haven't been 'liked' or 'friended' all day. He's doing a MFKing good job IMO.
He must have some 'southern saltine' in him.

I'm with ya, Chris. And BTW, to answer your question about what really irritates you. From what I've read in the past two years, pretty much everything, but then again, being active here pretty much requires that most things piss a guy off. Or, at least, more'n half.

Anyway, I agree that justifying one's hunting habit by saying that he is saving humanity is ridiculous. If you kill shit because you like killing shit, that's good enough for me. I do appreciate PX's stickers which say "Hunt Hard, Shoot Straight, Kill Clean, Apologize to No One."

My personal ax to grind is all these articles and features everywhere about how we need to kill ther fawn killers, making coyotes out to be Satan incarnate. Aside from the proven and oftimes demonstrated need to properly manage predators as a means of managing livestock depredation, given the chance to go calling or sit in a deer blind, I'm calling. Fact is, all the BS surrouding deer hunting really f's up my calling more than it doesn't. Now that I don't do taxidermy, I can speak my mind honestly. I friggin' hhhhhaaaaate deer and deer hunting. (Damn it feels good to get that off my chest!)

A running joke with me the past five years has been to say "So, have I ever told you how much I f*ckin' hate "_________ hunters"? everythime we have our stand ruined by another type of hunter or other people. To date, I hate deer hunters, pheasant hunters, quail hunters, duck hunters, goose hunters, squirrel hunters, non-hunters, oilfield workers, and nosy cattle.

Several years ago, I went to a Pheasants Forever banquet and a lot of the ppl there knew me as an "avid" caller. Had one guy come up and say, "Hell, I didn't know you were a bird hunter!"

"I'm not," I replied. "But, hey, a coyote's gotta eat."

I thought it was funnier than he did.

Yes! This is a big deal for you, fictitious or not. And, you're already throwing your weight around, back sassing the boss. I made you and I can fire you just as quick. Think of me as the Donald Trump of the coyote message boards. Ask Tom.
(I, me count=2)

Good hunting. El Bee

Breaks over, now back on your head!

I hate deer but I really like the deer hunters and pheasant hunters that lease up all the land around here, most have coyotes on there lease and don't know how to hunt them or have the time to try so its a easey access for me... [Big Grin]

Don't be divided and conquered by the dark side. If hunters are following the laws, no hate from me. Of course there are some clueless clowns who really shouldn't leave their couches. But hey....this is still America and having weapons and hunting is legal (in some places).

Damn, wow, I still like deer hunting, but you know what I hate, YOUTH SEASONS!!! Bunch of shorties running around shooting and wounding animals, or dads using their kids to get a weeks headstart on the regular hunters. Oh yea, I hate haters too. [Smile]

Hate to agree with TA but I get to hunt a lot of deer leases because they don't coyote hunt.

Had a guy "try" to put me on the spot in a group of people once, by proclaiming "I only kill what I'm going to eat",...

So I replied,.." Do you lick the bugs off of your windshield too?"
He was speechless... [Smile]

I've said this before, maybe not here...

If your daddy told you to only kill what you're gonna eat, he'd have made a shitty coyote hunter.

DiYi:
quote:
And,speaking of killing,Chris how do they 'leave dead
You go and pick them up by the hind legs, drag them to the nearest ditch and... then you skin them and eat them. Like my daddy did. [Smile]

Look. When they throw out bullshit, such as only kill what you intend to eat, then contrary to smithers rant, we are perfectly justified in mentioning the control aspects of coyote hunting. It's okay to talk about harvesting fur and why not mention that, just like sharpening skills by walking up jackrabbits and calling a few coyotes, good practice for those that take up deer hunting later in the fall.

Now, I don't feel the need to justify what I do, but there is plenty justification. And, it doesn't hurt to know a few of these things when some dumb shit starts with the hunt what you eat bullshit. So, no ground squirrels and rock chucks, starlings, all the nuisance species. That's dope!

Good hunting. Lima Brav 0

"So I replied,.." Do you lick the bugs off of your windshield too?"

GOOD!

I cracked up at reading that one.

By-the-way...you ever tried fried coyote?

There's a ready market with the oriental community.

They like dog...don't ya know? So much so there was an outfit in Orange County awile back caught with a cooler full of locally killed dogs hanging like sides of beef.

MMMMM...MMMMMM good!

Hell, I fell for it DiYi...........I've just been spending the day plotting my revenge!!!! [Big Grin]

What irks me??? How about guys on quads that think the `road closed` sign on a locked gate doesn't apply to them so that they can road hunt it off of the quad 'cause they're too lazy to walk. [Mad]

Yeah Frank; knowing that many cultures eat dog, I once tried bbq coyote. Vile would be an understatement.

However..........many years later at an outdoor show I was able to tell a tree hugger that approached the booth that I was a `non-consumptive user of wildlife`. He was all happy until I told him that I didn't comsume the coyotes after I peeled the hides off of them. [Razz]

Koko, most can only walk so far in a day and a quad just happens to get you a little farther down the road. [Big Grin]

you don't get the pysique i have by riding quads [Big Grin] .

Was invited on a tower shoot for pheasant and ducks two weeks ago, it was EXCELLENT fun! We literally filled a truckbed with birds, and I mean FILLED it.
In hindsight, all that wingshootin' & killin' birds cannot compare to seeing just ONE coyote come to the call and making a good shot on it. NO comparison!!!

Tim;
I don't really care how somebody gets a little farther down the road. It's when the road ends, is gated, tank-trapped and posted that it's time to park the rig and hike. I've had one too many still-hunts ruined by some clown on a quad on a closed road that thinks he's `special` because he `can't walk very far`.

[Mad]

I'm with ya Koko. I have a real problem with a-holes who take 'em where they're not supposed to go. Got no problem letting them know it either.
