A Michigan elementary school is defending its decision to confiscate a third-graders batch of homemade cupcakes because the birthday treats were decorated with plastic green Army soldiers.

Casey Fountain told Fox News that the principal of his son’s elementary school called the cupcakes “insensitive” — in light of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

“It disgusted me,” he said. “It’s vile they lump true American heroes with psychopathic killers.”
Fountain’s wife made a batch of 30 chocolate cupcakes for their son Hunter’s classmates at Schall Elementary School in the town of Caro. The 9-year-old helped decorate the treats with plastic figurines representing World War Two soldiers.

The following morning Fountain said his wife delivered the cupcakes to the front office. The secretary complimented her on the decorations and then took the cakes to Hunter’s class.

“About 15 minutes later the school called my wife and told her the couldn’t serve the cupcakes because the soldiers had guns,” Fountain told Fox News. “My wife told them to remove the soldiers and serve the cupcakes anyway — and I believe she may have used more colorful language.”

To there way of thinking one of those 30 plastic soldiers could of kilt someone, and not know which one was going to pull the trigger it was much safer bet to just have all of them removed...LOL

I can remember back when I was in school, I brought a old German 22 training rifle in to restore in shop class on my spare time, was'nt a problem back then and I don't think I even asked for permission. Just brought it into class and the teacher asked what I was going to do, and I replyed just restore the finish on the stock. The teacher shrugged his shoulders and walked away.
Now if you walk down the hall and make a gesture with your hand of a pistol you go straight to the office...

I went to El Monte Union HS with Danny Batistini and we used to exchange and borrow shotguns and 22's in the parking lot all the time. This school had a population of about 2,000 and was decidedly urban if a bunch of misplaced Okies with a sprinkling of Mexican Americans. Meaning, they were just like everybody else. It was a good time. That school is 95% speaking english as a second language, now.

Back when I attended high school, you were a geek if you didn't have a rifle of some sort in the back window of a beat up, rusted out, bald monster-tired 4x4 in the school parking lot. Nowadays, a SWAT team deployment and a school lock-down would ensue.

When I went to school we brought our guns so we could meet after school and groundhog hunt or go squirrel hunting. We had 2 smoke breaks a day and traded knives in ag class. Then again, people raised their own kids and we were taught things like respect and morals. Now daycare raises the kids.

Yeah, and you know who to blame for that? The Feminists! Equal pay bullshit. Now, it requires TWO paychecks to survive. I spent my whole life supporting my wife and kids. Wife worked when she wanted and quit when she wanted.

There is no way women belong in front line combat. Do you want some chick squatting in your foxhole? They are not nearly aggressive enough to pull the trigger when it needs to be pulled.

How about lady firemen? You go into a burning building with your "partner" who is 5'3" and weighs 130 pounds. A beam falls on you and she is supposed to carry you out of danger, right? No, no, no. She goes out and gets two males to haul your dead ass out of there. That's how Liberal equality works today.

Main thing is, getting females out of the kitchen and into the workforce is a bad idea. Now, they dumb down the occupation and pay you half of what is required to support your family. Is this a great country, or what?

You hit the nail on the head Leonard.

There isn't a thing I could disagree with in your post.

We only had one child, which the wife has taken plenty of crap for. Leslie my wife and I decided a long time ago our daughter wouldn't spend a day in day care, and she never did, graduates in two months as a matter of fact.

My wife worked before our marriage, and started working for the school district when our daughter was in 4th or 5th grade ? as a substitute teacher, and is on her 2nd job since.

Back in those days, I worked 60 hours a week, sometimes 70. Missed many family get togethers and such, because I worked almost every Saturday and sometimes holidays.

You know what, I've got for all that ? Grief ! Guess from where ? The wifes side of the family !

(edit) forgot to mention the in-laws while long time divorced have basically turned liberal.

I could tell some stories..

I give up.. [Roll Eyes]
