Since this site is the obvious place to find out about all things political, I'd be interested to read some of your opinions about Citizens United.

I realize I should have been specific as to Citizens United. They are supposedly a conservative organization dealing with various matters.

What I was interested in, specifically, is what forum members thought about the Supreme Court's decision pertaining to corporations and individuals being allowed to contribute unlimited amounts to politicians with no requirement to identify themselves, under the thinking such would be covered by the rights of free speech.

Montana residents can tell you a lot about this decision and what they think of it.

If an American or an American Corporation has a cause it supports it should be able to donate whatever amount it likes to whatever cause.

If I wanted to donate 1 Million dollars to the Red Cross or Mitt Romney anonymously or any other group it shouldn’t matter to the Government other than sad cause documents receiving the money. Who I am as an American should not matter.

I really didn’t see what the big ruckus was all about, these Corporations will have to state on their taxes at the end of the year where that big ole chunk of money went or claim it as income same as an individual. So who is getting what from whom will still be known.

This is a win for the American people being able to do with their money as they see fit. Then again we just lost huge on Obama care and the Government telling us what we have to do with our money.

Not all donations to political causes are deductible on your income taxes. I can't help but be concerned about unlimited amounts given anonymously to politicians. That makes it far too easy for money from other countries to get mixed in. Any of these organizations that give enormous amounts want something in return.

Montana has blocked people trying to get control of their politics for well over a hundred years until this decision was made by the Supreme Court. They evidently have read about oligarchy and plutocracy.

They seem helpless to do anything about Media Matters and George Soros.

Good hunting. LB
