Since pitbulls and every other aggressive breed has pretty well had the crap knocked out of 'em, I'm gonna throw up something new to kick around.
Unless you live under a rock, y'all have probably heard about this JT Ready fella and what happened in Gilbert (PHX suburb) the other day. Gilbert PD spokesperson and all local media say Ready shot and killed his live in girlfriend, her daughter, the daughter's boyfriend, and the daughter's 16 month old daughter, then shot himself.
Lots of peripheral circumstances and nuances to the story to say the least. Here's one local story:
Gilbert Killings
Since this happened about 30 miles away, I've been following along pretty close. Maybe my non-conformatism is showing (now that you all know I have a soft spot for killer dogs), maybe my tinfoil hat is too tight, but I'm having some difficulty totally buying into what's being reported. In subsequent stories the local media has been falling all over themselves demonizing Ready, as they should if it happened the way they're reporting it. But some of it just doesn't pass the sniff test with me.
Thoughts?

I can't figure out what a maniac does, or why. Never have been able to. Are you saying that because the guy was a vigilante concerning wetbacks, that the media is playing the killings as something a racist bigot would be expected to do?
It's hard to unscrew the guy's head and look inside, but the results speak for themselves; yeah, he appears to be a nutcase.
So, what doesn't add up, from thirty miles distant?

There's a lot, actually.
Ready was a publicity hound/lime light seeker for sure. Kinda reminds me of Sheriff Joe in that aspect. Also there's not going to be any time in this lifetime that I condone Nazism or white supremacy. The list goes on. Damn straight, the guy had some issues, no doubt about it.
What stands out to me first is why would he kill the baby, yet let the 19 year old daughter live? Not a peep from her since the incident. 2 guns were found in the front entry where Ready's and the male victim's body were found. Survivor purportedly said that Ready was trying to leave in a car parked on the street in her 911 call. Somewhere in the stuff I've read it says that Ready was wearing body armor.
The Gilbert popo stopped their initial investigation so the FBI, DHS, and other agencies could do their thing and just stood around outside and waited until they got the go ahead. Strangely, no photos or video of anything indicating a crime, not even an ambulance or coroner's vehicle, other than a bunch of cop cars.
Ready wrote on an internet blog a year ago that he watched his rear view all the time, slept with a loaded gauge under the bed, and a handgun beside it, and rather cryptically predicted he might meet an end.

Well, he WAS looking to take the local sheriffs job away from him. You know me, I have no problem believing that the local law enforcement was behind it all.

I thought that maybe today some more facts would surface but it appears that none have. No interviews or statements from the survivor. No mention of the guns involved. No further statements from any of the various agencies who responded. No autopsy reports (Ready's was supposed to have been done Friday). Nothing but silence as far as facts go. Plenty of additional speculation though. On Twitter, the survivor said she was going to Orlando on Friday, so the cops must be done interviewing her?
It's just suspicious to me.

Agreed, Nick. It's not like he wasn't trying to attract attention. I imagine if I posted a video or two on youtube of myself prancing around in the desert in battle dress and talking about shooting people in the face, they'd have a file on me pretty quick too.
I wonder if they felt the need to get in there and sanitize the scene, so the local popo didn't tie Ready to them.

I don't see how the Feds would have jurisdiction in this case. I mean, this is being treated as a murder/suicide which normally would be handled by the local police, as you have mentioned.
The search warrant aspect I could see, since the Feebs were tracking Ready. But not the crime scene itself, if that was indeed the case.

Yeah, listening to those tapes certainly lends credibility to the story as it's been told. There are still a few more things that need to be addressed from my perspective though.
What about the neighbors who said there were other vehicles at, or around the scene at the time the shots were fired? How about some ballistics? There's no court case pending. Give me the facts. I can't stand this "this is what happened because that's what we say happened" bullshit.
They have kept so quiet about this shit, it just lends itself to speculation that somebody, somewhere, is trying to cover their ass.
Ready probably is VERY deserving of the "fucking turd" moniker, but why make it a guessing game? Put the evidence out there so wingnuts will stop manufacturing, spreading, and perpetuating rumors...if that's all they are.

The Gilbert Police Department will host a community meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at the Town Hall Council Chambers, 50 E. Civic Center Drive, regarding the investigation into the shootings that left four adults and one toddler dead last week.
Mayor John Lewis will speak, and representatives from the police department will provide an overview of the ongoing investigation. Topics and concerns relating to domestic violence will also be addressed.
Police and community representatives do not plan to take questions from the media.
