News reports say 180 miles of Interstate closed from Kingman to Winslow! MAN! Glad I'm not there right now, but we had the storm pass through here yesterday. That area around Williams can get real snotty as can any place that high. Actually, (small confession) it's kind of invigorating to be in late winter storms.

Good hunting. LB

Yep! Been pretty warm here all winter, lucky if any snow we got lasted more than a few days..
I came back home from my company meetings this week and see that all the ice is off the lake...

Still have alot of coyotes around that did'nt get killed..
I remember a member here saying you can't stock-pile animals. Will see next season if this holds true or if our numbers will stay the same avr. or be higher...

I was always fond of telling, or reminding people that Flagstaff was/is higher than Denver. I'm not sure of that, but it's close. I remember staying at my cousins place in Mormon Lake about 20 miles southeast of Flag and we had to dig down 14 feet to get in the door, or more accurately, to get to the door mat under which was the key. The drift was that high on the west side but the other was not as high otherwise we wouldn't have found it.

The reports claim they got anywhere from 14" to a couple feet of new snow. Boy, you just have to feel sorry for them Minneesota boys longing for snow. What the hell is that? Wanting snow? Yuck! Did I mention that I have never been back since I was twelve years old? Yeah, I kinda miss the snow and the -30˚ mornings....that and the man eating skeeters in the summertime. Sure I do.

Good hunting. LB

Been a warm winter everywhere but Europe this year. Pretty much tanked the fur market when it's raining coons up north. This week, I've been subjecting the west end of town to my catfish belly white legs carrying mail, with temps in the 80's. That's really nice, for most people, but for me, it means trouble. Late tonight, we're expecting a dryline/ cold front to move in from the west along with all that moisture LB has been talking about. Cold front + warm air at ground level + moisture = Holy shit! Tornado weather, boys. Gonna be as rockin' and rollin' Monday.

Yeah, well. It's raining again so look for it in a couple days heading towards flyover country.

I was wearing shorts a few days ago, myself. But, the furnace has been on all day today. My tortoises came out in the warm weather last week but of course, they are back in their burrow for a while.

At least we have made it through the winter without frost, THUS FAR. Seems every year I either lose or have some type of frost damage to my tropicals, including the cactus. But, it's the plumaria I worry about the most, that and the staghorn fern. Keep yer fingers crossed.

Good hunting. LB

Two days ago I was shooting the bow wearing shorts & sandals. Yesterday, 35 mph winds brought El Bee's rain. (We really need it) Today's forecast is for mid 50s to the high 20s tonight with a bit more rain. By Thursday it will be in the 80s again.

Rattlesnakes should be out in another week or so.

I TRIED TO WARN YA. It's colder than hell here, this morning. It was 63˚ before I lit a fire. But, I still don't see evidence of frost?

It was windy as hell around Ash Fork Friday and Saturday. Rain started falling early Saturday evening. During a sprited game of ship, captain crew, the snow flakes showed up around midnight. When the game ended an hour or so later there was enough on the ground to produce snowballs. Yesterday morning there was 7 inches on the ground. Considered calling a bit since the wind had laid down, but a got sidetracked by a member of our party sliding off the road and getting stuck in a front wheel drive SUV and had to go into rescue mode.

By the time we got back, it had started snowing again and we threw our shit in and hastily beat feet. We were about 3 miles off the 40 and pulling the trailer was a bit dicely in a couple of spots but we made it. Zero traffic on the freeway, trucks stranded on the shoulder, and snow to within 60 miles of Phoenix. Rain and hail the rest of the way in.

Picked up some kind of a stomach bug on the way home and my garage is littered with wet camping gear that needs attention, but likely will not get it today.

Yeah, that's what I mean; it's really invigorating, spring storms, etc. Makes ya feel thankful to be in the cab, all warm and drying out. I have no clue what you are talking about, (captains, ships...)

and am afraid to ask?

Good hunting. LB

It's (finally) warming up here in the UP of Michigan. I tried to get into camp on Friday with the Super Duty and the atv. I drove to the camp turnoff with the truck in 4x4. Then, I used the atv. The snow was over the headlights on the Polaris and I got stuck. I just knew that I should have put the snow plow on the truck before I went out there. Global warming my butt.

Yeah sure, but now they are telling us that all the cold weather just proves the GLOBAL WARMING, er I mean; CLIMATE CHANGE.

The fact that the past couple years have been particularly cold tends to prove GLOBAL WARMING, especially if you are a friggin' Liberal. Those folks must have been fed soy milk, as an infant? There has to be a logical explanation? How else can normal looking people be so fucked up in the head?

Good hunting. LB

PS also explains all those votes for an idiot promising HOPE AND CHANGE

MI VHNTR, you should come down to subtropical lower MI. It's been in the 60's, 70's and 80's for a week and a half. Downright toasty! And unwelcome; I want snow.

Leonard: Whats your weather going to be like for next week???
Sending my mother out your way for a vacation and to visit family...

Well, they claim rain is forecast for next weekend. Beyond that, I don't know? Have her bring her galoshes. I think that is a Minneesota term for rain boots?

Good hunting. LB

I think she gets there on monday and will leave by end of week so perhaps she will miss the rain.. No rain boots here, we just go bare foot, saves on the shoes. [Wink]

Alright, Leonard. Enough is enough. Been drizzlin' and showerin' on and off for three days and nights. Stayed b/n 52 and 61 the whole time. Like living in f-in' Seattle or something.

I tried to warn you. It's like I'm up on the DEW line, arctic circle, early warning radar for Soviet Nukes only different.

Been nice weather today, 85˚, not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful, in fact. So, look for things to change real soon.

Good hunting. El Bea

When you get tired of the rain Lance, send it this way. My cows want grass to eat and that takes rain.

It's been coming down in buckets since 2:00. Somebody will get rain in the next few days.

Hell, Lynn, they said you got a half-inch last week. Any more than that and y'all will be building arks.

Actually 1.2" but we've been so dry so long it will take more then that to make a difference.

Well, it's still raining, here. El Bee

Send some of that rain this way; we need it. Usually, your weather shows up over here in a day or two. Nothing in the 10 day forecast about a drop of rain. [Frown]

Koko, are you saying the rain won't get that far or I made it up? Or, maybe that ol' debil jet stream took a hard left toward Salt Lake City? Come on, buddy, my credibility is hanging by a thread, here!

Good hunting. LB

No, as a matter of fact your weather info is usually pretty spot on for this area in a couple of days. That's what's strange; where's the storm going??? It's either going to go north like you mentioned, rain itself out before it gets this far, or............due to Climate Change..........(drum roll).......the entire weather system is going to hang over you without moving for months on end, turning Calif. into Seattle South.
By this time next year, you could be wearing a rain hat, a heavy wool coat, shorts, and sandals with socks on. Oh, and you'll need to paint your nose blue with that zinc sunblock stuff even on rainy days. [Big Grin]
Not to worry, though; you got Gov. MoonBeam to look out for ya!!!! [Eek!]
