News reports say 180 miles of Interstate closed from Kingman to Winslow! MAN! Glad I'm not there right now, but we had the storm pass through here yesterday. That area around Williams can get real snotty as can any place that high. Actually, (small confession) it's kind of invigorating to be in late winter storms.
Good hunting. LB

Yep! Been pretty warm here all winter, lucky if any snow we got lasted more than a few days.. I came back home from my company meetings this week and see that all the ice is off the lake...
Still have alot of coyotes around that did'nt get killed.. I remember a member here saying you can't stock-pile animals. Will see next season if this holds true or if our numbers will stay the same avr. or be higher... [ March 18, 2012, 02:11 PM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

I was always fond of telling, or reminding people that Flagstaff was/is higher than Denver. I'm not sure of that, but it's close. I remember staying at my cousins place in Mormon Lake about 20 miles southeast of Flag and we had to dig down 14 feet to get in the door, or more accurately, to get to the door mat under which was the key. The drift was that high on the west side but the other was not as high otherwise we wouldn't have found it.
The reports claim they got anywhere from 14" to a couple feet of new snow. Boy, you just have to feel sorry for them Minneesota boys longing for snow. What the hell is that? Wanting snow? Yuck! Did I mention that I have never been back since I was twelve years old? Yeah, I kinda miss the snow and the -30˚ mornings....that and the man eating skeeters in the summertime. Sure I do.

Been a warm winter everywhere but Europe this year. Pretty much tanked the fur market when it's raining coons up north. This week, I've been subjecting the west end of town to my catfish belly white legs carrying mail, with temps in the 80's. That's really nice, for most people, but for me, it means trouble. Late tonight, we're expecting a dryline/ cold front to move in from the west along with all that moisture LB has been talking about. Cold front + warm air at ground level + moisture = Holy shit! Tornado weather, boys. Gonna be as rockin' and rollin' Monday. [ March 18, 2012, 03:06 PM: Message edited by: Cdog911 ]

Yeah, well. It's raining again so look for it in a couple days heading towards flyover country.
I was wearing shorts a few days ago, myself. But, the furnace has been on all day today. My tortoises came out in the warm weather last week but of course, they are back in their burrow for a while.
At least we have made it through the winter without frost, THUS FAR. Seems every year I either lose or have some type of frost damage to my tropicals, including the cactus. But, it's the plumaria I worry about the most, that and the staghorn fern. Keep yer fingers crossed.

Two days ago I was shooting the bow wearing shorts & sandals. Yesterday, 35 mph winds brought El Bee's rain. (We really need it) Today's forecast is for mid 50s to the high 20s tonight with a bit more rain. By Thursday it will be in the 80s again.
Rattlesnakes should be out in another week or so.

It was windy as hell around Ash Fork Friday and Saturday. Rain started falling early Saturday evening. During a sprited game of ship, captain crew, the snow flakes showed up around midnight. When the game ended an hour or so later there was enough on the ground to produce snowballs. Yesterday morning there was 7 inches on the ground. Considered calling a bit since the wind had laid down, but a got sidetracked by a member of our party sliding off the road and getting stuck in a front wheel drive SUV and had to go into rescue mode.
By the time we got back, it had started snowing again and we threw our shit in and hastily beat feet. We were about 3 miles off the 40 and pulling the trailer was a bit dicely in a couple of spots but we made it. Zero traffic on the freeway, trucks stranded on the shoulder, and snow to within 60 miles of Phoenix. Rain and hail the rest of the way in.
Picked up some kind of a stomach bug on the way home and my garage is littered with wet camping gear that needs attention, but likely will not get it today.

Yeah, that's what I mean; it's really invigorating, spring storms, etc. Makes ya feel thankful to be in the cab, all warm and drying out. I have no clue what you are talking about, (captains, ships...)
and am afraid to ask?

It's (finally) warming up here in the UP of Michigan. I tried to get into camp on Friday with the Super Duty and the atv. I drove to the camp turnoff with the truck in 4x4. Then, I used the atv. The snow was over the headlights on the Polaris and I got stuck. I just knew that I should have put the snow plow on the truck before I went out there. Global warming my butt.

Yeah sure, but now they are telling us that all the cold weather just proves the GLOBAL WARMING, er I mean; CLIMATE CHANGE.
The fact that the past couple years have been particularly cold tends to prove GLOBAL WARMING, especially if you are a friggin' Liberal. Those folks must have been fed soy milk, as an infant? There has to be a logical explanation? How else can normal looking people be so fucked up in the head?
Good hunting. LB

MI VHNTR, you should come down to subtropical lower MI. It's been in the 60's, 70's and 80's for a week and a half. Downright toasty! And unwelcome; I want snow.

Alright, Leonard. Enough is enough. Been drizzlin' and showerin' on and off for three days and nights. Stayed b/n 52 and 61 the whole time. Like living in f-in' Seattle or something.

I tried to warn you. It's like I'm up on the DEW line, arctic circle, early warning radar for Soviet Nukes only different.
Been nice weather today, 85˚, not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful, in fact. So, look for things to change real soon.
