My son wanted me to post this pic for Fred, Kelly and Randy R. As they know, he can't blow on a predator call with out it morphing into some kinda duck sound.....lol. Anyway, the orange army still has us surrounded. So, they hit the ponds all day, and had alot of success.

Water retrieve? You know the Yuma trick shot? You time the approach and the trajectory so the duck lands right in your game bag. They perfected it on dove, but it works equally well on watercraft.

PS, seems to me that a lot of these "curs" look suspiciously like mutts? Is this intentional? To keep the crooks from stealing valuable, well bred dogs?

So, Peanut Butter Man, (aka AR) blows a predator call that morphs into a duck call? Wow! His talent is enormous, but he is a fair shot on game. I saw him kill a coyote once that was out of sight, over the top of a hill. How the hell did he do that?

Leonard, when you're a bumbling spazz on the rifle as I am, you need a fat shifter to grab! plus it's ribbed for my pleasure
Geordie, tell Tommy to quit messin' with them long range whitetails & take Rory out to call him in some coyotes!!! [ November 28, 2011, 05:01 PM: Message edited by: knockemdown ]

Okay, looks like you might be a "lefty" all the way around, eh?
Yeah, ribbed even! Non slip. It used to be that you could sell a fisherman anything. Now, it appears coyote hunters have fallen for it?
Just think of all the "must have" items, like $400 replacement stock, 25X scopes, custom barrels and exotic chamberings. Can you imagine being laughed at, with a wood stock and "fixed" power scope below 9X?

Geordie, Tommy sent me a pic of Rory's drop tine buck and have his permission to share it here for you guys to see...

After the Mr. Coyote contest, Rory & Chase were both breaking clay pigeons @ 600yds, so I KNOW these young men can shoot!!!
And Tommy said, "GOOD JOB, CHASE!" [ November 29, 2011, 09:22 AM: Message edited by: knockemdown ]

Lefty all the way around?? Probably not, but I am left handed, and I think that indicates that I'm in my right mind, no?
Niether the rifle or any of it's components were must have. Never had a full custom before and that's just another item off my bucket list. Not really a coyote rig either, although it does see some use as one. Put it together as a long range toy mostly. Besides, it IS really fuckin' cool.
I have an extra "super kool oversized bolt handle" around here somplace that would look pretty badass on your Middlestead. I'd send it to you for a fair and modest price.

I KNEW I would get a nibble with that comment. No, I don't think being wrong handed automatically makes you a lefty. Besides, it has been well documented that left handed people are extremely creative, very artistic and make excellent interior decorators.
By the way, is that super kool bolt handle for a right sided bolt? I am looking for one that is way bigger than normal, to make a statement. You know?

PS I initially thought that you would boycott HM out of loyalty for your BMF hunting partner. I think it is good you didn't.

El Bee; I'm thinking that an 8 ball off of a pool table would make a kool bolt handle. Even kooler would be some kind of shifter knob that lights up from an auto parts store. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

That's been done already, koko. I have a spare mushroom anchor that would make a hell of a statement. Already dipped in red plastic for a positive nonslip surface. Plus, it would close by itself, or maybe a low profile 10" cast iron frying pan? I have a brass chess set, the queen would look very sporty, as would a streamlined ¾X 4" galvanized pipe nipple; form follows function, you know?
Will a gunsmith actually install a super kool bolt handle without me proving that I'm a member of our homeowners association SWAT Team? I know I had to show I.D. when I purchased my elbow and knee pads at BassPro Shops.
In the meantime, the Middlested will not appear in public with an ordinary stock bolt handle. I could not stand the disgrace, I mean shame.....now that I "know" how much it reflects on my ignorance. I want to be kool so bad!

PS you know the gun that really needs it is my M600. A hot load once had me actually BENDING the S bolt handle!

Now you're inferring in a backhanded way that lefties are "happy"? You may convince me to boycott after all.
Its ambidextrous and about the same size as the one on my AI. It may have a groove or two cut into it but I'm not going to dig it out unless I feel that you're sincere in your interest, and I'm not feeling that at the moment.
Not sure about any regulations or requirements in your place of residence. I hear you can do it in the garage with a bench grinder and die though, so I guess you could fly under the radar?
We all want to see the Middlestead and you KNOW you sooooo want to be "kool". Take the plunge, don't be skeered. The rest of us cool kids will welcome you.

I got one on the right side, pretty handy when wearing gloves or calling at night.. I don't think I would have one on a rifle shooting anything smaller than a 22-250 size case though, way over kill.. They canbe a pain if you have to have the rifle in a soft-case.. [ November 29, 2011, 04:20 PM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

By the way, these boys look like they are second and third in line for the gallows scaffold, judging by their happy faces.
I remember once, up in Bishop, we were walking out dragging a stringer of real nice lunkers on opening day, Eastern Sierra Trout Opener. So, this reporter chick for the local access channel, waiting at the trailhead was asking us how we did, etc. and during the interview, we all looked like we were about to be shot as spies or something equally anticipated. Watching it on the news that afternoon, it was hilarious; our big fifteen minutes of fame and we blew it, looked like captured bank robbers.

they look like a duo of killers, alright
Leonard, this short video clip is my .243 shooting @ 550yds on a steel plate. If listen closely, you can hear the impact smack the steel after the bolt cycle is completed. That isn't particularly fast bolt work, but it does show how a big ol' shifter knob can come in handy. The shooter doesn't have to compromise his shooting position to cycle the bolt, so the target remains within the scope's field of view & a faster followup shot can be sent along...
