Shopping with the wife the other day, and she commented how the stores are offering less and less advertised specials and coupons. Fry's Electronics has been running ten page ads every Friday since they first came to Phoenix, and they still do it. However, I've noticed they are filling up these ten pages with less and less specials. For example, they use to run the laptop ads in a 2.4" by 2.4" square per laptop with four laptops across the top of the page. Today they run a 4.5 by 4.5 square per laptop with only two laptops across the top of the page. Instead of getting say 60 items on one page; today they only get 35 items per page. Have any of you noticed this or is it only me. Maybe I need a new pair of glasses.

Nope. I used to be the one to keep track of Fry's ads but somebody else is doing it now? What about Best Buy?
It does seem that the Costco's coupons they send to Executive members have a lot less stuff that has any remote interest to me. They have an online sale for a large gun safe for $799. I'm at the point where I'm reaching full capacity so it does seem a good deal but most of the coupons are for really mundane stuff.

I have not paid much attention to coupons or sales, but I have noticed alot of vendors I deal with have lots of back ordered or out of stock items.

I've seen inventory reductions in every economic downturn that I've gone thru as an adult.

It's goofy all over...take the Pizza Hut $10.00 for ANY pizza campaign that is being advertised for example.
Our local stores will only honor that on 3 toppings or less, NOT any pizza. Guess the local stores have the right to opt out.

So you are the folks that read the ads. I am amazed.
