Good post, I've often wondered about this misting thing ? Might have to put this topic under consideration.
Dang..5-shots, BTW..my cousin called me last week to head up with him to NE.MT..Couldn't make it due to obligations, he just got back, had a hoot !
Next time maybe, hopefully, I can make it ? I'll buy ya a beer if so.

Interesting. But, I have also heard that you cannot fool a coyote's nose.
Yes, Dan, (the man) it is nice to see an acknowledgment, especially since I have taken considerable heat for sharing rather valuable information. Sharing that information with thousands of anonymous people on the Internet for zero personal gain.
The thing about Gary and Rick, neither of them were very forthcoming about anything, in an attempt to gain the competitive edge on our club hunts.
My long time partner, Pat McGee happened to hunt with Rich on a weekend trip and by the next week, I had a working knowledge of rabbit piss. We spent more than 25 years competing with Rick and partner Lyle Brookover. We sometimes spent entire weekends in close proximity, sometimes observed, sometimes not. Rick Orelli only hunted with Gary Thomas two seasons, that I know of? Gary lives here in Upland, and seems to spend most of his time volunteering with Quail Unlimited, in the East Mojave Preserve.
Anyway, back in the day, there might have been 25 people that had knowledge about the value of misting in coyote hunting. It never became wide spread until I discovered the Internet about fifteen years ago, when I spilled my guts.
So, I remember a conversation in Scottsdale with some billionaire and the Professor. We were talking about marketing a spray to be called "Leonard's Magic Mist". The most interesting advice he offered was; "hell, do you think I invented shampoo?"
I will take credit for educating the unwashed, including Higgins; if you don't mind. Just a small gift, to the sport.... but remember where you heard it.
Rick died last year, not long after ol' onecoyote, both friends of mine. We pretty much wrote the book.

I remember an issue of Predator Hunting in 2005 that Rich was interviewed for and he credited Leonard as the source of his knowledge on misting. He also mentioned HM in the article, if I'm not mistaken.

Dude's this mag is totally rad. It's filled with EXTREME info for REAL coyote killers. Bro's you gotta pick this thing up! Actually, you can't. Sorry dudes, unless you have, like, a machine that can, like, take you into a timewarp and stuff it's unobtainable. I think I have the last RADICAL copy in existence, so like, dudes, I'm gonna auction it off on eBay bro's.

That was a good magazine at one time.
The history of predator hunting is very interesting and it's good to see credit given where it is due.

In the interest of "full disclosure" I have been on 2 read um 2 stands with him in all the time I've known Rich Higgins.
Furthermore I have a wireless router and my machines are the auto type I have time to "fuck" with people while they are running. Anything else?
