But the bailiff or what ever they are called did take the man into custody.
Did this guy threaten the judge, you decide?
Turd in charge
The other video on
this page, is interesting too, IMO...

After watching the first video...
I didn't see the question as a threat but even I would question the guy following the judge into the stairway and to the door of the chambers as a possible threat.
Was that a professional news reporter? If so he should have announced his credentials and stated his intent, then asked his question. If the judge had ignored him him at that point, then the reporter should have backed off.
Following any official into a stairway while communicating with him could constitute a threat.
Do I think that's right? Not necessarily but this guy clearly "could" have been a threat.
Do I think putting someone in jail for wearing a hat is wrong? If he was asked to remove his hat before entering the courtroom or more importantly asked in the courtroom and refused... he should be held in contempt. I've been on a jury and respect is everything in a court... it's also a two way street with room for both side to yield at least to some degree.
After watching the second video...
I would disagree with these guys and their methods. Anyone sticks a video camera in my face asking personal questions is likely to feel the eyepiece of their camera meeting their eye socket.
I don't believe the subpoena was properly served either. I'm not up on the law but I believe you must first identify the person subpoenaed and hand or read it to them... not to a closed door. Just my opinion. These guys are basically douche bags. Also just my opinion.

If there was a sign that posted this as a restricted area, or said authorized personnel only, then maybe I might see it as a possibly potential threat.
In a public building, I don't see it.
These guys may be dirtbags, I can understand the judge wanting the hat removed in the courtroom.
However I still see this as an abuse of power.

The honorable judge flat out lied!

Nikon, NOT even close to a threat, today tomorrow or next year. The baliffs are idiots for not asking some questions of the suspect and the Judge.
Who in hell is going to handle the case? Hopefully not the judge who lied.
The area the Judge entered was a PUBLIC stairway.
As JD said the Judge LIED his ass off because he was questioned about a ruling he made. ANOTHER case of how DARE you question me. NO CRIME.
I hope the OFFICE of Judiciary review takes notice of this SERIOUS abuse of power and removes the Judge from the bench.
The video speaks for itself. NO WHAT IF's allowed on this one.
Worse was NO ONE who wore the badge seemingly had the BALLS to look at the video tape and make a decision.
If I had been handed that piece of shit case, I would have watch the video and the guy with the camera would have been given a cup of coffee, then escorted home.
That Judge screwed up more than the freakin Utah State Trooper who tased the motorist.
DanS, change the title of your post to, "The Judge is a Turd". ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
