Jason, I apologize for making public and in any way insinuating that you were or have ever been guilty of poaching. I've said this several times and would like to reiterate it here. I was asking a question. Got the answer and moved on.
I did do a search on my own, to satisfy my curiosity and came up with nothing. Apparently, Niko is more resourceful than I am because he found it in no time. It was not meant to be inflammatory but it ended up that way. Any mention of pedophiles, NASCAR drivers and coke sniffing rock stars were not directed at you. It happened, I could have gone about finding the info a different way but chose this route. Sorry. - Chris

Hey smithers. You are not on my shit list, and never were. You don't need to feel pressured to apologize but it's a nice thing that you did. This guy seems like he is one of us, stepped in shit and is trying to move on. I really believe it could happen to any of us.

Good hunting. El Bee

LB, I'm not apologizing to appease anyone. It's the right thing to do.

Part of being a man is being able to admit when you are wrong and in this case I was wrong.

i got the cold shoulder from a guy at a local sporting goods store a while back. i was in the reloading area and this guy broght up coyote hunting. he asked if i did it. i told him that my brother and i won a tournament circuit this winter. he say'd he seen on the internet that we were cheaters and left without me saying anything. it pissed me off and HURT at the same time. how/why that ever came up i'll never know [Confused]
Jason. do you have any link we can go to to listen to the contest vocal??

About contests. I had the feeling that anybody that brought in 5 or 6 animals must be cheating. Then I did it and had to reevaluate my opinion but still thought a dozen animals was probably impossible. Then I did it. Same thing with two dozen, and then I did it.

This is not to say that there are not cheaters out there. Mostly, they think that a certain amount of animals means the team cheated and they feel justified in cheating themselves.

Eventually, things even out and you get a sense of what is possible and what isn't possible. Luck and hard work can produce some impressive numbers. Sometimes you fall flat though. You can't always sustain those impressive numbers. Animals just don't cooperate, just like fish biting and sometimes they don't.

agree Leonard. we never did well in any tournament till last year. we shot 15 in a 1 day tourney in late oct. we were like 2 kids at Christmas untill we quit for checkin time. we got back just in time and everyone was already checked in. the place was kinda buzzing with excitement till we pulled in, than it got a little quiet.i could help but have the feeling that i knew what the others were thinking.it ended up going well with alot of sincere congrats but there were a few dead-fish handshakes thrown in. i actually expected alot of rumors to be heard but i did'nt happen. i truely trust just about everyone that hunts these tourneys and feel they trust me also. i feel rumors are usually started by jeleous people instead of those with hard proof, however, if there is hard proof someone cheated than it's not a rumor, it's facts and those should be brought out

Bearhunter, fuck what anyone thinks. Just go and hunt as hard as you can. Hard work, homework, and luck make the top teams every contest. Nobody will every come up to you and call you a cheater and try to figure out facts at the check in if they think you cheated. At least not that ive ever seen or heard. Usually you hear about it a few weeks or months later.

I say again....fuck anyone that doesnt trust you, and dont take it to heart if you didnt cheat. Best thing to do is to go back to that contest this next season and try even harder the next time and shut their mouths. If they cant say it to your face then they are just jealous and need to grow up.

I used to think the same and have same way of thinking as Leonard. It seems out of reach until you do it or start to get close to doing it and understand what it takes to get there.

I have never competed in a coyote contest but I did do the Bass Tournaments for several years. Was pretty good at it. I posted the biggest stringer in club history and it still stands today. Several there claimed I cheated and I even had a witness in the boat. Some claimed I payed him off to confirm my story. I had one over 9 and the stringer weight was 34 something lbs. For this area, that has never been done before or since. just a phenominal night.

edit to add: Screw em, if they don't like it they should have caught more.

Smithers, I just got a chance to get back on here. Thank you very much for the apology. That show's what kind of person you are. I don't care about people talking about stuff I do, just so long as they get it right, good or bad. I'm not perfect by ANY means, and never try to be because I know it's impossible. I make mistakes like anyone. No harm, no foul.

I really appreciate it man. It means a lot. Hope there are no hard feelings between us. I know there's not on my end. Take care buddy and good huntin'... --Jason

Yeah I guess I will jump on the creepy bandwagon and praise smithers also. Anyone can make a mistake, but it takes a man to apologize.

And kudos to Jasonphunter for accepting his apology.
