What does it say when the police are confiscating cameras and smashing them? Is destroying evidence only something the public is guilty of? Since when do the cops need to destroy personal property that might show them doing something wrong?

WHO can I blame for not wanting to be a fireman? My mom or dad?

The other San Diego police officers under investigation are:

Officer Bert Hulbert: On paid administrative duty while under investigation on allegations that he had an off-duty altercation with a teenage neighbor in Miramar on April 11.

Art Perea, 42: Resigned March 4 amid an El Cajon police investigation into a college student’s allegations he raped her at a residence. Police said they are awaiting lab results on forensic evidence and then will decide whether to send the case to the district attorney for charges.

Officer Roel Tungcab, 39: Arrested March 24 by sheriff’s deputies investigating domestic violence against his wife at his Imperial Beach home. He continues to work on paid administrative duty while the district attorney considers charges.

Officer David Hall: Has pleaded not guilty to charges of felony drunken driving causing injury and felony hit and run in connection with an incident Feb. 22 while off-duty. He is on paid administrative duty.
Sgt. Kenneth Davis, 47: Charged Feb. 10 with one count of stalking and three counts of making harassing phone calls to a female San Diego police officer last fall. He is on paid administrative duty and will go to trial on the charges.

Anthony Arevalos, 40: Fired April 14 after being charged with sexually assaulting five women while on-duty. The 18-year veteran, who has been working as a DUI officer, was terminated after an internal investigation. He was arrested March 11 and faces 18 felony charges that include sexual battery, assault under the color of authority and bribery.

Robert Acosta, 39: Charged Oct. 6, along with his wife, with causing $165,000 in damage to their foreclosed home in Murrieta. The couple is also accused of stealing $44,000 in property from the home. Acosta, who worked in the department’s helicopter unit, later resigned. A preliminary hearing is set for this summer.

Thanks 22-250, I didn't want to reveal the truth of the matter. [Big Grin]

I just went out and shot my sway back horse in the barn. Freakin Barney has retired. [Cool]

4949 has nothing to worry about, but I bet he will be glad when he can retire.

Ken, you sure have nothing to apologize for, being a police officer. Unfortunately, when you are in that line of work, you become the target of more scrutiny than most people. Nobody writes much about all the good cops and what they have done for their community. People used to get out of shape if firemen were playing a game of croquet, but they didn't say much when we had to risk our ass to save theirs. Sadly, good news doesn't attract the media much.

No what worries me is the amount of press. Are we getting fed up and the media is now on our side or is big brother setting us all up?

Just think how easy would it be to declare all police forces corrupt and now policing will be done on the federal level?

FEMA and Homeland security take over and right all our wrongs.

I better go by some more tin foil...

Ken, now don't "cop" an attitude on us. We know they have a purpose. Ideally, there should be zero police officer crime. Is that too much to ask?

Good hunting. LB

No LB, I have not ridden in a black helicopter in years.

Zero police officer crime is like expecting TA17 to remain silent, it isn't going to happen anytime soon.

No Tom on a serious note, it's a sign of the times.

The public is tired of the crap in ALL forms of government corruption and overall BS. The public and media are paying attention and demanding answers and NOW!!!

Those paying attention and making corrections in their way of doing business and conduct will weather the storm. Those who don't will suffer at somepoint.

Oh CROSS J your timing is perfect. [Big Grin]

Riding black helicopters is a combination of being at the right place at the right time and kissing a little butt.

The second issue I am not too good at, but once every couple decades will consider it.

Lots of helicopter rides from my military days and some cop operations. COOL stuff riding in a blackhawk and cobra too!!!

The reason it's newsworthy is because police are supposed to uphold the law and take an OATH to do so. When they fuck up and step outside the lines that's all people wanna hear. It's like a GOTCHA! Ha! We knew you guys were up to no good!

It's a fine line. Whether an officer is jumping in front of bullets or getting cats out of trees, people think, "They are just doing their job, big deal" When they go above and beyond or do something bizarre, like pull a 12 ft alligator out of a home or shoot someone 42 times, it's newsworthy.

According to the story, 4 innovent bystanders were injured by police gunfire. I find that more appalling than stomping on a phone.

Napoleon is an Italian pastry. Yum!

Why don't you rethink your sig line? Just 'cause a troll jumped on ya is no need for self flagellation. We have already established that you are practically human, and short is not a crime.

Just a suggestion, of course.

gh/lb

edit: agree with smithers, banging away with civilians in the line of fire is not kool. Multiply that with destroying evidence and it sounds like a running amuck situation.

edit: every cop in the video should be suspended and a guilty until proven innocent situation should be the policy, at least in this case.

2) So, you catch a little shit because of what you do for a living. Try being a postal worker. When's the last time you heard of someone going all "Poh-lees" on someone's ass?

Lol I'm here Ken.

As far as postal workers go, I posted one thread here about a postal worker who got locked up by the PO-lice, and spit his own scat at the cop. Then everyone gave me a guilt trip because Lance is always getting these weird postal worker threads thrown at him. I actually felt a little bad, but Lance took it well.

Let's say you are at the campout and you observe JD peeing against a bush.

Would you ignore it, because you lack authority in AZ?

Would you caution the offender to walk further away from the campfire?

or would you call the police to the scene, explain the violation and sign a complaint?

What if it was TA? Would that make a difference in possibility #3?

Del, Ken and Nick have taken flack for being cops, and in my opinion have proved they are/were honest ones. And I guess Lance has taken some crap for being a postal worker also ?

Confession time. I've spent about 22 years in the auto industry, ten of which, I was a salesman, or sales manager or finance manager.

I also was one of honest one's ,the pressure to be dis-honest is what which eventually led me to other positions within that industry.

My wife used to take crap all the time when people asked what I did for a living. They would say things like a car salesman huh ? My wife was a stay at home mom during this time period, she would reply by saying I financially took care of her and our daughter.

I'm almost afraid to say this stuff, the more Leonard knows about me, he might add something else to my title [Wink]

There was a story in Arizona a couple of weeks ago. This I what I remember from the report. A SWAT team stormed a house that was occupied a marine vet, this wife and child.

The SWAT did an announcement that they were at the door, turned on a siren for a couple of seconds and broken down the door. Just seconds of notice. The vet came out of the bedroom carrying an AR and as the team made entry in the front door, and then the lead member of the SWAT team fell down and accidently discharge his weapon. The whole team fire more than 70 rounds, with the vet being hit approximately 60 times. Other than the lead member, all of the officers said that they were fired upon. And on top of all this, they broke into the whole house!!

Almost the same story line happen in Poway ten years, except it was a Sheriff SWAT and but they controlled there fire, and the homeowner was on hit twice and survived. Wrong house again, 10 million awarded to the homeowner.

How do professional make these types of mistakes.

I cannot verify the story in AZ but the Poway is factual.
