Deputy Mustow just doesn't have any quit in him.
What is the mandatory retirement age for patrol officers?

My guess is that Paul is probably the most motorcycle qualified member we have here? He has rode bikes I never even heard of. I will go by what he thinks.

I agree with Paul here too.
I will salute the officer for not approaching this guy, with his pistol drawn and emptying a mag in the "Alledged Turd".
Something tells me this guy would have been much better off with just the traffic violations.

Don't know in Florida Rich. It's different all over. My agency is 55.

This guy is no alledged turd Dan. He is an honest to goodness fucking turd. He knew the cop was being dragged. Fuck him. I hope he goes to jail for a long time.

Looks like he made the mistake of not letting the passenger get on all the way before he took off..
Posted by Paul Melching (Member # 885) on May 28, 2011, 02:10 PM:
He should be prosecuted to full extent of the law.(the guy riding the rice rocket)
The officer needs to examine his career choices..
Neither showed much in the way of sound judgement.
edit to add I agree with the fucking turd part.

At 62 the cop is a tuff old cobb for sure. VERY calm after the fact while still taking care of business during the pursuit.
But I am not sure why this veteran cop thought he could out muscle the motorcycle?
Might have been better to simply pulled the guy from the bike versus holding the bike.
REAL world someone up above (brass) would have asked the Deputy, WHAT were you thinking when you grabbed the motorcycle?
Would many ask if the Deputy created his own safety issues based on his actions, the answer would be YES he did.
The turd got out of jail the next day. WHAT is wrong with this picture?

I though I would take the liberty to use some "Cop Speak" such as alledgedly , person of interest, Turd, etc...
I thought of trial by jury too. OK, I'm just being honery.

It's not you Dan. I tend to get a little excited over these things.

Hey, now. Let's go easy on the old people...
I don't know that there is a mandatory retirement age here. I'm 53 now, will be 54 in about a month. I work patrol. In Florida you're eligible to retire after 25 years of service or when you reach age 55, but you certainly are not required to retire at 55. Heck, I'm still rockin' and rollin', prowlin' and growlin'!! I'm too young to be put out to pasture yet! I'm the oldest dude on my squad, older than my sergeant, my lieutenant, and my captain. I'm a street cop. No detective, no special teams, no desk jockey.
Mebbeso that deputy was just ornery, or mebbeso that cat just pissed him off. Sometimes us old folks can be that way. And sometimes what seems like a good idea at the time can morph into a case of 'what the hell was I thinkin'..??'.
Then again, sometimes it's just a case of True Grit.
Once I hit 55 and can retire, I'll work until one of 2 things happens: either I don't want to do the job anymore, or something happens and my body won't let me do the job anymore.
Until then...bandito's beware!! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Wow Del!! I didn't think they would allow someone your age to carry a gun.
Don't worry though, if you ever get to the point where you feel you got to retire......you'll always have a career producing music videos. LOL

I thought of this thread this afternoon when a guy on a bike flew past I and the wife on the interstate probably doing a 130mph. I and probably you too see one every month or so and I was plenty guilty of it when I was younger riding crotch rockets. Watching the video I chuckled thinking “what these two were thinking.”
Many years ago when I was a young Turd I did the same and let the officer get right beside me and took off.
If he had grabbed a hold of my bike I don’t know what I would have done but more than likely freaked and gunned it. I could only image what went through that guy’s head with all the adrenalin rushing through and a cop hanging on to his bike or the cops thoughts of “what have I done.”
I am glad neither participant was injured. Hopefully the guy on the bike realizes to stop when an officer is pulling him over and the cop realizes a 150hp motor bike is something you don’t want to try an stop with your hands. These two guys clearly for a few seconds thought they were Superman one thought he could “fly” and the other thought he could “stop a speeding locomotive.”
If I was the Judge in that court I would sentence them both to write “I am NOT Superman 1,000 times and time served.LOL!!

Well, JD, it's always good to have a second career to fall back on when times are hard. And I'm thinkin' music video producer might pay better than my other 'fall back' job...man-whore on the main drag after sundown...panthers need lolvin', too!
Or, I suppose I could merge them and produce porno music video's? Have to figure out who is gonna sing, though, since some might be 'otherwise engaged' and unable to.
Songs? How about 'Brick House', or 'Why don't we get drunk and screw'? I had thought '3 times a lady' by the Commodores might be a bit over the top, esp. the 'lady' part, but wait, if I do a rewrite it might work...'once, twice, three times a 'ho, a ho' that never says no...'. Guess I'll have to work on that some...
And ref the other, they gotta let old people carry guns..we're too old to fight and too tired to run.

You are scaring me again Del!!!
Posted by JD (Member # 768) on May 29, 2011, 01:39 PM:
What you mean you don't know who will sing........it's obvious from your last music video that YOU should sing.
Posted by DEL GUE (Member # 1526) on May 29, 2011, 05:45 PM:
Sorry, Niko. This weekend was an asskicker, and fatigue makes me say weird shit.
(The last time I got scared was when a panther's Mastercard got declined and I thought I was gonna be the one getting stiffed...I wound up settling for the emergency Depends she kept in the car and a half a bottle of Geritol.
)
JD, I'm not sure the world is ready for me to make a musical sequel...besides, it would be kinda hard to top 'Werewolves'.
Unless, of course, the stars and planets line up just right...and I get really hammered... ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)
