Don't know?

The best burgers I had in my life were at a place called Stoolies, in Gainesville TX.

Awesome..

We went there every day while on our trip.

I'm not surprised somebody residing in New Jersey doesn't know what a Double-Double is.

In N Out is the premier California Burger chain. I have been consuming them since I was a kid.

We have a few of those joints here in town.We hit one from time to time.I my self don't get it but it's funny how people love them. There's one just off the I-15 near the strip, man you can't even get in the place. I'm saying you have to be hell bent on having one of there burgers to go there.
I do like there food, and the kids and young adults that work there do seam to be a cut above the rest.
Just off hand I would guess we have about ten open here in Vegas.

Well if I ever make it out west again I will have to make it a point to have a double double at the In N Out.

This makes me hungry for a burger.

Tommie's Burgers.

We used to call the chilie cheese burgers the edible enema. The fries were pretty good too.

In downtown Salina, KS (booger will have been there) is a little building nestled amongst the "skyscrapers" - white with red trim - called the Cozy Inn. They make and sell Cozy burgers which are world famous. 'Bout the size of a White Castle slider. If you don't like carmalized onions, you won't like them at all, and they tend to leave a lingering odor with you, but that place has been open six days a week nonstop since the '20's. At one time, they changed out the grill to some newfangled gas version and the results were nearly catastrophic. Went back to the original one and the crowds settled back down. LOL When I was on the Fire Department in nearby SOlomon, KS, we had a burger stand at their small town summer whing ding and we made our version of the Cozies, except ours were quarter-pound sized. We would routinely pack up a couple coolers full and ship them overnight to two guys - one in Minnesota and another in California - who paid us top dollar.

You might have two In-and-Outs in town now, but there will alwasys just be one Cozy Inn. [Smile]

After going to Fuddruckers, and getting properly Fuddrucked, all other burger emporiums fade to insignificance!!!!!

I agree. We always stop at Fuddruckers when we go to the Woodward Dream Cruise. Great burgers and classic cars.

I don't know how to break it to you folks. There is no comparison, the In N Out Double-Double is the gold standard, and it's not just me that says so. I need to find that link, BRB

I don't get the relevance, 49 but I never saw a thread that didn't benefit by a change of topic.

And, Michael Moore is a complete ass.

edit: every time In N Out is brought up, koko wants to talk about Tommy's. Tommy's is another Icon in SoCal. I used, we used to visit the one on Rampart after a Dodger game, there would usually be a few players there. You eat standing up at a shelf. The sloppiest chili burgers in the world. The only place left in America where they have glass pop bottles in a chiller, really retro.

Now a days, there are other locations, one is in Ontario probably 5/6 miles from me, but I have never eaten there. Maybe some day?

By the way, all this talk about Double/Double, I had to stop and get one. Eat your heart out Pilgrims.

Micheal Moore is a fuddrukker or a pudsucker or a mudfukker or something like that and he obviously can't say no to a double cheese burger so it seems somewhat relevant to this thread.

Thanks for pointing that out. I see what you mean. And, he is a total asshole, no hope for that bastard.

PS Fudrukkers is okay, but it will never take the place of In N Out.

Opened in Frisco huh? Next Saturday Jimmy Buffet will try to stand on the stage there without falling off. Me and the wife might go see if he does but I ain't standing in line for 3 hours for no stinking hamburger.

Speaking of the great parrot head, he sells a pretty good cheeseburger in Vegas. Or maybe it was the perfect margarita, I forget...

Not so fast there, bro...

Fuddruckers is an American fast casual, franchised, restaurant chain that specializes in hamburgers. Its tagline is 'The World's Greatest Hamburgers."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuddruckers

http://aht.seriouseats.com/archives/2011/02/chain-burgers-fuddruckers-review.html

Fuddruckers was named as one of the top 10 restaurants in Houston in Houston Magazine.

I'm fairly laid back, but I'll defend Fudds to the death...!!!! [Big Grin]

P.S. I like 'in and out', too...just not as a restaurant. [Razz]

Fuddruckers. We had one, for a while. It was on Mountain, just below Foothill. Didn't last, the building is now a FedEx/Kinko location. If I want, there is one in Rancho, bro. Maybe six miles? There are three In N Out's closer, and one more almost as close. I don't think In N Out is worried.

I ate at Fuddruckers about a year ago, had their sliders. pretty good, as I recall?

Gotta side with the King on this argument, although I don't like to admit to anything good coming out of CA.

Fuddruckers is better, but at what, twice the price? They damn well better be! The double double is what other fast food burgers are measured by.

I understand they pay those clean cut, friendly, english speaking young people better than the competition too. To maintain that standard and a company that shines from the stores to their transportation equipment, you better be slingin' mad volume bro.

Did you know, by company policy, they greet you by saying "HI". Never ask what you want, you have to start the conversation.

I don't know what it is, but maybe it is displaced Californians that patronize the out of state In N Outs?

There is one on the outskirts of Barstow, Lenwood exit where there is several truck-stops, that they have the biggest In N Out you have ever seen. No exaggeration, it's about four times the size of a normal restaurant, as far as their chain goes. I'm pretty sure it's geared towards the weekend LA to Vegas traffic. I mean, it's huge!

And, it's true. They pay extremely well by fast food standards and you never see an attitude out of any employee, near as I can tell? I grew up less than a mile from the Baldwin Park location next to the freeway on Francisquito.

This is a CA institution, no other word for it. And, as with Fuddrukkers, I can build my own burger from my own BBQ grill that is better, but that Double/Double is like an old friend, and it never changes.

It's interesting that you can order quite a few items that aren't on the menu. A 3X3 or a 4X4, "animal style" anything on the menu, even the fries, protein burger wrapped in lettuce and probably stuff I haven't heard of?

I've never seen, or been to, an In and Out. If I went to one, I'm sure I'd leave happy and full! [Smile]

I started going to Fudds in the early 80's when I lived near and in Houston. I love Fudds! I don't get there often, only when my bro and I go to Bass Pro over in Orlando.

It's a good thing we have good places that we like to eat at in or near where we live. We have another chain down here called Five Guys. The burgers are pretty good, and a regular fry order is ginormous. But it ain't Fudds.

Life is too short. Eat where makes you happy, whether it's In and Out or Fudds or White Castle or wherever...just enjoy life and be thankful for each day you have!
