Looking through a bunch of genealogy work done by a relative of mine in Texas and came across this picture of my greatX4 uncle, or fourth cousin, or something like that. Hell, we're related. I just don't know how. Had to laugh at it. Uncle Cousin is the guy driving with his head propped up.

Cdog911 THANKS for posting I like coloring in old photos. Sorry I didn't have much time this evening to do the photo justice but thought you might like.

I get time later I will do a better more full color and e-mail it to you if you like?

There was a day that jack rabbit round-ups took place, my dad has told about the time when they were so thick that they'd club'em to kill'em.

Cool old photo Lance. I wonder if shooting from the vehicle was legal back then.

I don't know if such a law had been enacted yet. My grandpa told me once that when he and my grandma first got marrried, times were tough. he's hunt geese during the day, then stake out short lines of cord with hooks embedded in crosscut sections of field corn. They'd then sneak out way before daylight with jacklights and pull up their "line" of hooked geese and get them home before the warden caught them. We still have a few jacks around, but not many. I jump about 1 a year when calling.

Great picture, Lance. Reminds me of some of the stuff that dad used to have around before we had a fire that burned all such good stuff up. Thanks for sharing.

Were fairly common in the day. Granddad used a double barrel 12 ga to shoot jacks to feed hogs.

Cool pic on several levels. Thanks for posting it. I wonder what percentage of the population owned cars when this was taken?
