Mark Zepp and Cal Taylor! My gawd Mark is super tall and Cal is super sweet!
I didn't have much time to set and talk with them, we were all busy at the Deer and Turkey Expo in Columbus, but it was all good!
Nice to meet you both and hope to run into you all again down the road.

Yeah, and my late wife, who used to scan the board for me before I got home from work, just to find out what I was up to; she always said, that Cal Taylor, "What a hunk"! That's why he has that custom title, EL GUAPO. Spanish for handsome; like, Hey Handsome! I'm sure he hears it all the time in those WY Honky Tonks and why his wife doesn't let him out of her sight. (just kidding)
Good to see you rubbing elbows with your fellow elite, Sheri. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Mark. Maybe some day?
Good hunting. LB

So... I have to agree with the late Mrs. Leonard... except add Mucho El Guapo
I was really hoping his wife was with him, I wanted my granddaughter to meet her, but she wasn't. And for the record Leonard... you are also an El Guapo
My daughter left the expo with a Darton Crossbow and my granddaughter left with a pink bow. I left the show with lots of good memories and meetings and a very tired body

You guys crack me up! I passed the handsome stage about 20 years ago. But it was nice to meet Sheri. I was there selling hunts and some calls for Mark. LB, I can't believe you haven't met Zepp yet. A great guy, and the most standup, honest, and straight forward in the "industry" as far as I'm concerned. No BS in his resume'. And you can use the letters BS in a couple different ways.

Apparently, (it seems) you are aging like fine wine? A heavy cross to bare, no doubt?
Yes, I have heard that about Zepp, would like to meet him. I will make the effort to attend one of these shindigs, even though I have nothing to sell; collect a few autographs, etc.
Good hunting. LB
PS, am standing by, waiting to hear from you and Brad.

I think once upon a time Mark Zepp was hooked up with a fellow name of John Wick that ran an outfit name of Wicks outdoors.
Not sure if John Wick even owns Wick outdoors any more. I do see the name Mark Zepp's name pop up from time to time on the fourms but I have never meat the guy.

Coyotay, I think you are correct. But that was some time ago. Mark works for Tri-Tronics now and has a line of predator calls and videos. His predator calls are the best of the best in production calls IMHO. And his videos are pretty dang top of the line also.
LB, I think I have aged more like milk, than wine. Has Brad conned you into a turkey hunt or something? You guys are welcome any time.

The Zepp calls I have seen are unique, in a category that has a lot of unique designs, but they are understandable as to why, and not just for the sake of uniqueness. But, I don't own one.
Yes, as a matter of fact, a promise was made, and I am interested in seeing how your calling in your areas produces more coyotes than turkeys. I am checking loads for my sling shot, steel and lead, and right now 38 caliber appears more than adequate. I would hate to waste a 3.5" dead coyote shell on a turkey.
We can wait until the wind dies down.
Good hunting. LB

Don't forget your longbow. Cal loves the traditional archery guys.

I am assuming that is the same John Wick who trained hounds(thus the referance to tri tronics)? He wrote a good book some years ago about training coon hounds. I met him once...nice and knowledgable guy.

John Wick has always had some good coon hounds.I think Wick was well known for a walker dog called preacher.I used to read the stud adds on preacher in Full Cry magazine.
John Wick might of had a walker dog name of stylish banjo, but I could be wrong on the banjo dog.But Wick did have a coon hound name of Stylish Babe. I have a brother in Kansas that has a walker male out of Stylish Babe.
U.K.C. puts out a magazine called Coonhound Bloodlines, and if you look in the back of the magazine you can read a list of the studs that sire a large number of pups that win in the hunts.I think they call it the U.K.C. top reproducers. Stylish Babe made that list.

Soon as Pokey was old enough to read, I got him Mr. Wick's book: "Walk With Wick-The Tree Dog Encyclopedia"...

My Redbone used to climb trees. She never met a critter on four legs that she didn't like to chase up a tree, but if a cat would hold still and let her sniff it, everything was cool. But, if the cat hissed, she would bowl it over by kicking it forward with both front feet. She was boss, never let another dog sniff her ass.
Good hunting. LB
