Man, this is a shock! They got the asshole, too bad he survived.

Something I wonder about, one eyewitness mentioned Oracle, which is (what?) 40/50 miles from Tucson? But, on TV they all talk about Tucson.

A bad deal, for sure. LB

The latest word from there:

Sam, got anything?

Yeah, I can find a source for any and all points of view. Confusion reigns.

As of 30 SECONDS ago, the hospital spokesman says she survived surgery and is responding to commands. Five others in surgery, Level 1 trauma center overwhelmed and GSWs being diverted. Federal judge shot, may or may not be dead. Staffer dead. Up to 6 dead total, up to 13 shot.

One in custody W/M 22 yoa, possible Iraqi War vet.

DPS controlling traffic on SR77 (the NS road at the scene) PCSO controlling traffic on Ina Rd (the EW route) and the perimeter, FBI taking the scene.

Now, they say a judge names Roll died. I have to wonder if he is related to the owner of the Roll Ranch down by the border?

Some commentator said, a few minutes ago that since the reports claim 15/20 shots were fired, that this indicated the weapon was an "AUTOMATIC" and not just a "semi-auto. The depth of ignorance about guns, etc. is amazing.

Now they say the shooter is a white male, 22 years old.

Now, maybe Judge Roll didn't die?

The coverage is getting hysterical.

Good hunting. LB

The talking heads on the tube are quietly mentioning that someone in the crowd may have returned fire at the dirt-bag. Possibly security gaurd, body-gaurd or off duty L.E.O. They don't seem to want to consider that it may have been a law abiding citizen w/concealed carry.

Mrs. 49 was watching the news. Told me one of the two guys who tackled the shooter was a doctor. When they interviewed him, he stated he always carries a firearm. So my question is, why did he tackle the BG instead of shooting him?

Mrs. 49 says that maybe he was the second guy to tackle the BG. Well if that's the case then okay...

Somebody should have killed him. Now, he sits around, guest of the government for ? Forever? He's a crazy SOB, the crowd should have beaten him to a pulp, skinned him alive, castrated him and made it so he has to sit down to pee.

Good hunting. LB

LB,
The shooting took place at the Safeway shopping center at the intersection of Oracle and Ina Roads, about 3-4 miles from my house. As a matter of fact, I was supposed to meet a girlfriend at one of the restaurants in that shopping center for lunch yesterday. Just as I was about to leave the house she called me because she'd just heard about the shooting on the radio. I just drove by the shopping center on my way home and it's still closed -- yellow tape all the way around the center and police vehicles blocking every entrance.

Glad you weren't there Chris...

No one should have to be near that kind of thing. The guy is certainly crazy and needed help. Too late for his victims now.

I do agree he should have been beaten to death on the spot! [Mad]

Something to ponder early in the morning;

Dirtbag in a crowd, shooting randomly. Doesn't care who he targets or hits. People are dying.

You're 20 or 30 yards away with a handgun. You have a shot at the moving dirtbag, but with the crowd, if you miss you hit an innocent. If you hit & pass thru, you hit an innocent. If you do nothing, innocents continue to die. You have seconds to decide what to do & a lifetime to live with the decision. Your every move will be second guessed by the media & the government attorneys. And, somebody will probably sue you. This is some serious shit.

Times up................what ya gonna do????

Like the young man, who carries a concealed weapon, who helped to hold the little b*@#%&! down. When he approached the crowd, hand on his weapon in his jacket pocket, he saw a man with the gun in his hand and told him to drop it. Luckily, he didn't shoot first because the guy with the gun had just taken it from the shooter.

On Fox & Friends they interviewed this young, 24, man. Gretchen was amazed, stunned, that he carries. Brian asked what kind of training he's had. The young man replied, my father, I got my first weapon when I was 8 or 9. The media needs to remember that not all of America thinks or acts like New Yorkers.

Beacuse of our laws, as for beating the little B@$#%^, if those who held him down had hurt him, he or his parents would probably sue them, not because they were quick acting individuals and good Americans but because they hurt the shooter.

koko, the thought that always concerns me is when drawing iron, to confront a perpetrator, LE, especially off duty, will have a knee jerk reaction and anybody with a weapon is going to be shot, not head-on, but by somebody who has not evaluated the situation as accurately as I might have. You shoot the asshole and now, somebody can mistake him for a victim, and do one of those double taps on my good Samaritan body. Don't tell me it's unlikely.

Good hunting. LB
