I had a low tire Wednesday. These tires are BF Goodrich AT, P275 65 R18. Anyone price tires lately? I bought tires for my wifes little car, my sons Jeep and my old Suburban, but thats chickenfeed compared to these sumbitches or something comparable. Twice the price. A damn ripoff is what it is. I got one last effort. I normally buy Coopers, or one of their offbrands, and have very good luck. My hookup is closed til Monday, see what he has. Otherwise, its a grand, or just under. Forgot to say, I took mine in to get it fixed and the damn thing had a knot the size of a baseball and had little leaks all around it. They are two thirds worn out. Not much choice but a set.

BTW, the babysittin is over. Thank god. I will have no more kids, gettin my nuts cut ASAP. No grandkids will be babysat by me and if I run into that kids daddy, Im knockin the shit out of him. Now, this little girl is a sweet as pie little girl, but FUCK! I guess Im just not cut out for it. Oh well, winds blowin its ass off and its colder than a well diggers ass. Wouldnt have been no fun callin or settin traps today anyhow.

Andy, I've felt the pain of buying tires twice in the past four months. Four tires for my pickup and four new studded snow tires for my wife's car... Sum Bidge tires have gotten expensive! I got lesser tires for the pickup than I've ever purchased before and still paid almost $900. The wife's car, which I will not skimp on tires due to the roads she has to drive in the winter, were damn near $500.

As a side note, I had a half worn set of snow tires sitting in the garage that I advertised in the local paper and the phone rang off the hook for a week. I sold them to the first guy who called and he drove 60 miles to get them and didn't even try to dicker on price.

At least tires have come down in price since last year or the year before.

On the babysitting thing, my "Granddaughter" who is really my daughters God daughter, said papa before she said momma. I have her every Sunday, screws up my hunting time but I bought her a pink BB gun today for Christmas, she's 5. Wouldn't know what to do without her.

AndyL i know what you mean about tires i spent $840 on the truck and 400 on the wifes car last year and i buy them through the shop at dealer cost. What was wrong with the 15 &16 inch rims tires were cheap for them.
No comment on the baby setting

I bought a set for my truck last year - $1,050.00! And that was the best price I could find, both online and local. Actually local was a better deal than online when I factored in shipping to a local place, installation, and "associated charges" there. Probably doesn't help I have 20" wheels. I bought a set of Cooper M+S for the truck, they look good and dug like hell last winter in the gunk on the old logging roads and woods trails I frequent in the Mark Twain National Forest of the Ozarks.

Yeah, I hear ya. Tires have went up big time in the last year or two, I have three old rigs.

Two 1996 SUV'S and my ole' trusty 1973 Chevy pickup, thank god they all run on 15" tires.

Bought tires for both the SUVS' this year, Les Schwab all seasons on the Blazer, and BF Goodrich all terrains on the Jeep.

I have connections and spent about a grand for tires between both rigs, which is cheap ! nowdays !, prices rise significanty when tire size applications goes above 16"

(Edit) I have access to a local tire wholesale center, depending on what a guy gets I'd say that for a set of 275/65/18's $700 for cheapies and around a $1000 for something decent is in the ballpark..

JMO..

I just put a set of Firestone tires on the truck, I priced them at Tires plus and also at a farm tire shop. The farm tire shop won at a price of 760.00 for 17" A/T tires. Tires plus wanted an additional 12.00 per tire..
