"You guys are slowly getting outnumbered! It's about time Leonard introduce a new forum for LEO talk. Hehe."
-------------------------
NO, not LEO. Way too many of those abbreviations to suite me. COP TALK would be much better. Actually, I think Leonard has a COP TALK forum in the works right now. You will need special pass word to get in though. Kinda like the AR forum ya see.

Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on November 26, 2010, 12:22 PM:

Good idea, Rich. I can set that up real easy. Not sure if there is enough interest? The non LEO's will want to talk about their last chickenshit ticket and the LEO's will dodge and weave. Better that it be password protected, like the AR forum, or maybe the Oki Forum?

Good hunting. LB

Meanwhile, we will give you shit right out here in the open.

Honestly, I have seen a couple cop forums. Hell, I work with cops daily and cops are some of my best friends. However, hangin in a cop forum would drive me nuckin futz. Some, and I said some, of them think way too much of themselves and think code where no one else knows they are talkin about takin a shit is kewl.

There, that outta get the ball rollin. [Big Grin]

Good hunting. LB

edit: Andy, take your provocations to the coptalk forum. Be nice, sweet talk them with code talk, and you may earn enough points from all your LEO friends to be nominated for HM hunter of the year award. 10-51

Thanks for the welcome guys. Andy, I have to agree - cop forums drive me crazy. I don't visit any of them, the last thing I want to talk about when I'm not working - is work. I prefer forums and topics where everybody shares a common mindset and gets along extremely well together... you know, like predator hunting forums. LOL... [Smile]

Rich,
Got your e-mail this morning and a reply has been sent. I can tell you are a retired cop, always suspicious- lol. And of course just when I come on scene here some dude arrives with what would seem a crap disturbing agenda about another website. I registered here and over at NPHA after yet another argument at PM about 100 yard coyotes and 200 yard geese with a shotgun and No. Four Buck. I want a place to sit back and relax where that level of stupid isn’t as common, and you don’t have to hold your tongue and can call a spade a spade – so to speak. I figured out something awhile back, I am not a politician and I do not have an agenda or plan for the greater good of mankind as it relates to predator hunting. Nor am I trying to make a dollar from the sport with a snazzy new video or Coyote Butt Out Tool. I’m too simple minded for any of that – lol.

GC...

Well 4949... I'm a new guy but I think I may see part of the problem. Some of these guys may be a little sensitive about the "keep them on their toes" thing. I noticed at least one of them only has 3 Toes - it might be kinda rough on him ya know. [Wink]

GC, being that you are a new comer here, it is completely understandable that you are not privy to what I underwent to earn the respect of these men. There is no "problem" other than me being myself. These guys know me, and know I am not afraid to go against the grain. They also know how to "take" me, most especially when I am joking around with them. And for some unknown reason the guys here seem to have accepted me. But just to set the record straight, I won't be changing my personality or my viewpoints to please anybody. If Leonard sees fit, he is free to punch my ticket anytime he feels the need.

Krusty, FYI I wasn't being serious. I thought you would have known me better by now.

Anyone else have an issue thay would like me to address? I kinda thought we had gotten past this point around six months ago.

Andy,
You are a little slow, we are getting a COP forum. Not LEO because I hate that term. The new COP forum is password protected protected and has a sign on the door "No Bounty Hunters allowed".

Posted by Andy L (Member # 642) on November 28, 2010, 07:08 AM:

Yeah, I dont blame you LEOs. I dont like bounty hunters myself. If you hear someone use that term, its one of two things. They are either ignorant or a wannabe cowboy.

Bail Bondsmen on the other hand perform a needed service at no taxpayer expense. A service that has worked for centuries. Im sure the LEO forum would be more than happy to have us. [Wink]

They are debating whether to let you in, or not? So far, it's a tied vote, could go either way? You might want to slip a few comments into other posts, like some of my best friends are LEOs, or "I never got a tickie I didn't deserve". Good luck!

Andy,
I once had a burglary warrant for a guy who had fled to Kansas City. I learned that his Father-in-Law had died, so I showed up at the Funeral Home for visitation with the family. After voicing my sorries to the wife of the deceased, I asked her if her son-in Law was coming back for the funeral. Yes he was. I showed up outside the funeral home during the funeral, and I snagged my man as he came out the door. He resisted arrest, and I drug him across the parking lot by the collar of his shirt. To make a long story short, the owner of that funeral home called me the "Bounty Hunter" for ever after. Actually I really like Bounty Hunters, but I like jerking your chain even better.

It isn't anything really, just didn't pay attention to that when I was registering. I guess "US" is the standard issue pre-checked for you and I didn't notice it. Yes - I do live in Missouri.

As to the good hunting part, I went this morning and made a half dozen stands with nothing to show for it. I hiked into one of my Ozark Mtn. honey holes, but the wind came up immediately at day break and was pushing 20 - 25 mph. It was good to be out anyway even if nothing furry got shot.

Because you are an intelligent person and you have seen me post here for the past year. That's how. I figured you would realize I was joking. No big deal.

After 16 years of marriage my wife doesn't "get" me either so I wouldn't expect you or anyone else to.

Now I was already good enough to admit my mistake with you. Leave at that, my friend. Leonard says you are loyal, and loyalty goes a helluva long way in my book, especially in this day and age.

As far as Leonard saying your list is short...I think he meant that as a compliment. I could be wrong, but I guess we'll see when he gets back, if he is so inclined.

Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on November 28, 2010, 06:02 PM:

To clarify my comments:

Krusty has a couple of folks with which he doesn't see eye to eye/a short list. Just a statement of fact. He is loyal to HM, and I appreciate that. Does he "get it" any more than average? Doubtful. Krusty used to catch a hell of a lot of flak, as a newbie. I especially remember Quinton Waggoner jumping all over him, largely justified and also somewhat mean spirited. I have ran interference for him, in the past but more recently, he has been able to hold his own quite well, I think.

I also deflect rocks being thrown at Tim Anderson, from time to time. Same deal.

Now, Krusty has a personal issue he needs to settle with me, but that has nothing to do with his interaction with anyone on the Board. He's a good member, doesn't cause trouble, still learning and he knows it, everybody knows it. He has dug out a niche as a call maker, seems to be well regarded, and is very generous with his work.

Okay, that's a thumbnail sketch, gives you an idea.

Good hunting. LB

Gary, I have all but missed out on hunting in the winters of 2008/2009 and 2009/2010.
Changed jobs, changed careers, etc...
Still seriously job hunting but I'm surviving where I'm at.

I am off to a much better start this year. Been deer hunting with family a bunch and coyote trips - all in Mo.

My 14 y/o son killed a nice buck on opening weekend and we both killed does the second. College kid has deer to gnaw on for a while and my freezer is packed.

BTW, the buck killed is probably the best eating deer I've ever had.

Waiting on the deer madness to end so that I can really start calling.

Joe,
Best wishes on the new career, I wasn't aware of any of that. The job is always a huge part of our life and the stresses from that can be tremendous. Again, best wishes regarding that.

Yea, 500,000 guys trampling around for a couple weeks can make the coyotes shy for sure. For the most part in my neck of the Ozarks it is done. There will be a few muzzleloader guys in late December, but not many down here and with all the territory available it isn't hard to get away from other guys at all. After that... smooth sailing!

GC,

Just saw this.

I got a few coyotes and an occasional cat down south, hunting the MT forest, and around Cherryville. I mainly hunt north of Hannibal now. I'm still in MO.

Posted by GC (Member # 3718) on December 18, 2010, 08:07 PM:

Lungbuster,
Back to the rifle? I probably go 50/50 between the two. If I hunt with someone else and can get them to use a rifle, then I will nearly always take a shotgun. I'm still learning about them, shotguns aren't as simple as they might first appear (as we know!).

Dan,
You probably have a better population of coyotes up there than I do down here in the Ozarks. As you know, hunting the big timber of the MTNF isn't the easiest place to kill predators.

Posted by JoeF (Member # 228) on December 19, 2010, 08:48 AM:

Sounds like Dan and I are neighbors.

Howdy, neighbor.

The thing that always bugs me about big woods like the MTNF is that it is hard to get anywhere w/o making a bunch of racket.
