Well, after being unemployed for about 45 days, I start back to work tomorrow at the bank I left 4 1/2 years ago. Haven't been around here much--been doing yard work, keeping up the house and whittling down the honey do list!
I will be running a new division they created to deal with the new Barney Fag/Chris Dodd mortgage bill. Will be responsible for all mortgage loan compliance going forward. Found out the new bill really has Big Brother watching--all mortgage officers will have to be finger printed, pass a proficiency exam, and be assigned a number by the good 'ol US Gubmint so they can track all loans you do...
I was able to learn some new skills, however--picked up a fly tying kit when we were in Colorado and am looking forward to catching some fish with my new flies I am tying!
Lance--sorry I haven't given you a shout yet--will get with you in the next couple of weeks so we can kill some coyotes together!

Glad to hear that everything has worked out for the better. Think you can get a day off this week as I'm one vacation? Is it too soon?

Lance, I am pretty sure I have Vet's day off, but will have to see if the wife is taking that one off as well--will see what is going on and give you a shout!

I have to take my daughter to a dentist's appointment first thing Thursday morning and was hoping to head to western KS for a couple days of calling. But, as is my usual luck, I've had a half-dozen things happen to my and everyone else's schedule, and on top of that, the forecast is for wind and rain all week. If it weren't for bad luck,..... LOL

Six years, five months, and counting. Can't say that I miss the rat race much, at all. Occasionally I see something I would love to tackle, (professionally) but I just lay down until the urge passes. lol
Retirement may not be what it is cracked up to be, but I love it. Too bad it has to end. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

No, I have no plans to end retirement.

Well, God willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be able to retire in 3 more years. That's when I'll be eligible for my full social security and, will be on Medicare. Of course, with this great economy it could all change tomorrow. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

For what it's worth. Stay working. Retirement isn't all that great. I was retired 6 yrs. and really got bored. Maybe I am just a little different. I got my old job back and I am happy as a lark. Plenty of time for calling coyotes also.

Brain dead RUPUBLICANS wanna raise the retirement age to 69 , then they want to give your social security earnings to wall street to play with, and as far as medicare goes , well they want to completely do away with that , Don;t get sick and end up in the hospital , because then the DEATH PANELS will apply .. good luck !

Well, at least the b/d republicans aren't pushing legislation to take what money I already invested in my 401k away from me to pay to keep all those welfare maggots on social programs healthy so they can make more babies with different last names. edit: my granddaughter just got accepted with no schollarship, full fare to CalStateLong Beach. Meanwhile, the CA Supreme Court gives a two thirds discount to illegals. Does that sound like something Republicans would do? ........I didn't think so.

Well if disagreeing makes me a liberal , im sure { or at least i would sincerely think } most everyone in here is a liberal too. Some other republicans proposed to ban all abortions period including incest or rape . Joel or Leonard if your granddaughter { and i pray to god this would never happen } was to be raped by some scumbag bean frying asshole , and got knocked up . He's gonna be calling you grampa. Or would you disagree with that ?

What bothers me is that whenever the abortion issue is trotted out, the left always wants to radicalize the issue by insisting it include the stuff about rape and incest. Liberals are always trying to frame the argument with conditions that Right to Life people have never insisted upon. As far as I am concerned, and I happen to be against abortion as it exists today, a very casual procedure commonly called, ABORTION ON DEMAND. Parents can be kept totally in the dark about what some clinic does to their 13 year old daughter, but in other situations, a hospital won't treat a kid bleeding to death unless they have parental permission.

So, to be clear, my opinion is that the Left does not tolerate ANY restrictions on a woman's "right" to choose. I don't think reasonable people, (conservatives) want to prevent, (by passing a law) a therapeutic abortion if the woman's life is in danger. I don't think reasonable people, (again, speaking about conservatives) would insist that a rape victim not be allowed to terminate a resulting pregnancy. And, furthermore, I think reasonable people, (such as conservatives) would not be against a victim of incest terminating her resulting pregnancy. If she so desired, of course.
Therefore, the phony argument involving those rare situations are just that, a phony issue. I believe what reasonable people want, (conservatives) is taking the government out of the abortion picture. If abortion is legal, why do the Democrats insist that taxpayers foot the bill for irresponsibility?
There are many solutions to pregnancy. Abstinence being one choice. Then, there is birth control pills taken as a daily regimen , and they have the morning after medication. What else? Some contraceptive foam? But, what the Left is insisting on is abortion on demand as the first choice for a female that broke up with her boyfriend and now, doesn't want to birth his child; no matter what HE may have to say about the issue. So, it's about responsibility. If the woman has health insurance, that is where I would like to see the procedure paid for, not (so called) "free" abortions paid for by taxpayers.
What they usually don't consider, because of too much trouble and inconvenience, is adoption. Kind and caring people, (usually conservative people) wait years and pay considerable money to adopt infants. So, there is a need, (the single female) and a ready demand for these babies, yet Liberals want to treat the fetus as nothing more than a blood clot, about the same as an ingrown toenail.
Whatever. Roe versus Wade is an ugly decision and it would be very nice to see it overturned.

Amigo, I don't think you know what the "conservative view" is, actually. And, neither you or I have any idea what makes one a liberal; in joel's eyes. More to the point, who gives a shit?

I NEVER said all republicans were against banning abortions completely., I said SOME republicans made that statement while they were campaigning. One that comes to mind , is the psycho bitch that was running for the senate in Nevada, She and some others made that statement numerous times. But my question to you was . If your grandaughter, or for that matter , daughter , mother , wife , niece, or sister, was ever to be raped. Would you support her decision to have an abortion. In typical conservative fashion , you dodged a simple yes or no question , and rambled on about birth control methods. Its a fairly simple question , if you agree with SOME of the conservative views you wouldn't want her to have an abortion ,If you disagree with SOME of the conservative views, you would support an abortion .By disagreing, in some peoples eyes , you might be called a liberal . By the way JOEL, "eaglelib" is quite whitty , but maybe next time take a little more time to think about it .
