I know Arizona law well enough to stay out of a jam.And I will read the regs again soon.I will use a quad this year more than I ever have in my life. The use of the quad is to save back on the wear and tear on my truck. What I need to know is do I have to have a hard case to keep my gun in while using a quad while in the act of hunting in Arizona. I have read the Arizona regs and will read them again in afew days. If some one from Arizona would help me outabout the use of a hard gun case while using a quad while hunting in Arizona would be nice.

Paul,
Do you know the regulations on travel in atv's on non roadways, like river and stream beads and across private property that is not fenced?

You may ride on existing roads and trails only cross country travel is not permitted except in cases where you may retrieve downed large game unless otherwise posted.in az. private property must be clearly posted at all corners and every 1/4 mile.In az it must state no hunting or its open to good judgemt. Some washes here are roadways but many are not, stream beds unlees part of the trail are a no no also. Ive used many trails that turn into a stream bed for a few miles and then back on to the trail. Most washes that you cant use are posted. (and Leonard they were probably texting people dont use phones any more.)

You can carry your gun any way you want to. Open, slinged, hard case, soft case, and loaded or unloaded to any degree you wish.

Aznative speaks the truth. We are an open carry state. It does seem a bit odd though to be in line at the bank knowing that the guy behind you is wearing a shoulder rig with a Colt 1911 in it.

Koko, If I'd have known that was you in front of me in the bank line, we could have gone out to lunch to swap hunting stories. LOL

DId that law just change recently? I guess its been 5 yrs ago, but was told when we were there that long guns had to be in hard case on atvs.
Pain in the ass. Like Paul, I carry mine in one of those holders on the front rack, loaded and ready.

You can legally carry any gun loaded in the car with one in the pipe. At least keep the safety on. We now also have a general concealed carry law. You cannot go into any business that has a "no firearms" sign.
