Hey Guys!

It's not often I step back and say something like this...

Maybe I've been a little too hard on Tim!

All I can say is I get to be the first to pat him on the back and say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! WOW!

Geordie, does Mike look a little healthier than when you hunted with him??

Just a few new parts and he's a new man.

For those of you who don't know, Mike got a pancreas and kidney transplant a year or so ago. A great turn around for sure!!

I'm just trying to figure out how AR came in second? I mean, the guy can plain rack'em and stack'em. I know TA can shoot, no question about that.

In any case, congrats to the HM crew!

Good hunting. LB

Randy,

Not to leave you out, good job, too.

Leonard,

Randy would have won, but Tim got ten extra points for being all decked out in camo so the targets couldn't see him back.

(Sorry, Tim. I couldn't resist.)

Yeah Randy shot real well, well enough that he don't need to have a back-up shooter on stand like some guys I know.

Hey Tim...

Did Charlie Bland and Dave Boyer get back out there to shoot? I was just curious, one or the other has been in the final four since it began. Both are great guys and very good shooters.
I think Charlie won the award last year.

Not a problem, Tim. I guess I've never thought of Kevin or Matt as back ups, since there's only been one instance in six years where I needed either of them to follow me up on a hit coyote. Instead, I prefer to think of them as good friends with whom I enjoy spending my time afield. Because of that camaraderie, I find that the times I hunt alone are because I choose to, not because no one else will hunt with me without me having to hit the ATM first.

Speaking of choices, I'm also deeply thankful that, although my home ground looks very similar to your own, I don't have to go someplace else to be able to call and kill coyotes when all I really have to do is buckle down and decipher why the home coyotes don't respond like they do in the big rangeland country, then figure out how to work around that and kill some fur.

Sorry, Tim. I couldn't resist either. [Smile] And, yes, Shaw is quite a good shot.

Neither one showed up this year for the contest since they had to change the dates due to rain.
Yes Charlie has won or placed a few times in Mr. coyote and he also took a 4th in some other shooting contest a few years back. I did a search and did not find anything on Dave B. but I only looked a few years back in the records..

Oh I kicked around the idea of doing a P.D. guide service, problem was some clients want to shoot coyotes also so I dropped that idea..
I guess I'm a little selfish when it comes to coyotes, I don't take too many hunters into my area. If someone else wants to call and kill coyotes they have to go and find there own areas to do it in just like I did years ago.
There is good money in it though but I'm not interested.

quote:
, I know Wiley was chargin you $500 to take you hunting and see if you absorbed it.
For the record I did'nt pay Scott to go hunting with. I paid Scott for a service he was provideing and that was instruction for calling coyotes, very simular to a O"gorman instruction class on trapping.
I was refered to Scott from another member here that also has taken instruction from Scott, the other member that refered Scott thought that Scott could up my game as far as calling and working coyotes goes. He was right and the money was well spent.
Scott dose'nt just take anyone for instruction and the money paid is just for his time that he has to take off from work, kinda like Cal when he guides for antelope or Randy R. that guides for pheasant hunters..
You could also look at it this way I paid 500.00 to help up my game and some have spent thousands of dollars for collage to learn about animals and this has done nothing to improve there game they are still struggleing.. [Roll Eyes]

TA17rem, congradulations on your Mr. Coyote title.

Did you also go to that predator university in New Mexico for some training? The guys that have gone there say that Tony Tebbe can up your game better than anybody. I once read where you have never been able to call a coyote in your home area. Did the lessons change that?

Again congrats. Later
