Guess I am learning to loosen up in my old age and be more spontaneous...this year will mark the 26th year I have been married to my lovely bride.
We are going to spend a week in Estes Park in October to wind down, and I just found out that Kenny Rogers is putting on a concert in Loveland, Colorado, just 30 miles away.
Anyway, old tight ass here found 2 front row tickets and I am going to surprise her here in about 30 days!
Have always liked that guy, however, his plastic surgeon should have had his nuts cut off for the way he looks now...

I am not sure what he looks like? Different, or what? Unrecognizable? I never thought he was some beauty queen anyway? Who is his wife? Nobody tells me anything, anymore!
I'll tell you one thing that has always pissed me off is his friggin' song: Know When To Hold Em. That is the stupidest horseshit jingle ever created; and wannabes believe it with all their heart.
And, yes, I play cards now and then. ElBee

LB, Google him--look at his old look and his new look--looks like they grabbed up all of the loose skin on the back of his head, pulled it tight and tied it off.
Looks like he has a perpetual 100 mph wind blowing in his face!

I always thought that the 'Coward of the County' song that he did was pretty lame. Other than that, his music is ok.
Yeah, he looks pretty scary now, but hell, look at El Bee's Gov. Arnold. My cat vomits on the carpet in fear whenever he does a news conference.
I may look a bit rough around the edges, but by Gawd I EARNED the right to look this way. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I see what you mean, boog. To me, he looks like Kenny's retarded little brother. And, if anybody is offended by the word, that's too damned bad. I'm still trying to comprehend the Dr Laura N word fiasco with the politically correct words, except for certain excepted individuals.

What Barry Manilow is to pop, Kenny Rogers is to country. Sorry, but I can't stomach either one!
But congrats on the 26 years! [ August 24, 2010, 02:14 PM: Message edited by: 3 Toes ]

Some of his music is really lame like the stuff from his "First Edition" days! LOL
He looks real bad with his face all pulled back, that's for sure. He's been married 5 times and every one of his wives has been a "hottie"! Marianne from HeeHaw was a foxy momma! I guess when you can settle a divorce for 60 million the women all love ya regardless of how you look!
Now if I just had 60 million!!!!

Okay, I'm alright with admitting that I don't care much either for "Know When To Hold Em". But how in the hell does anybody talk bad about "Coward of the County"? That just ain't right!

Thanks, Kelly--actually trying to get brownie points with the wife. Figured if I did something like this at the beginning of the season, I might build up some extra 'capital'.
Would much rather go see an REO, Styx or Boston concert...

You should do like me, I buy my wife a good ticket and send her by herself to see Barry Manilow. No way I'm gonna go and Kenny is right there with him to me.
Congrats on the 26 years, it ain't easy. I should know, I've been married for 21 years I think and it took me 3 wives to do it.

You're all a bunch of 'newly-weds'...........34 years with the same long suffering woman. I can't believe she hasn't killed me in my sleep. ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

I feel sorry for all you guys that haven't found a soul mate. I lost Nancy a little more than 5 years ago after a 44 year marriage. She was an angel and I miss her terribly.

Hey Leonard, It must be really hard on you being without your lady. I lost my love to divorce in 2004 and it still hurts me deeply. I can only imagine what you must feel. I try to remember the good times and keep those close to my heart!

Been gone a few days and just got back to the keyboard.
LB--sorry to hear about your loss. I know how my mom felt after my dad passed away after having been married 32 years--she was lost.
One of the nuggets of wisdom my dad passed on to me, ironically, right before he died was "God gives you one good wife and one good bird dog in a life time, don't screw with either one".
Got the first part right the first time out--waiting for the good 'bird' dog...hopefully it will be a decoy dog... [ August 30, 2010, 12:19 PM: Message edited by: booger ]
