It Hails!
What a fuckin day. Big storms. Tornado touched down about 3 miles down the road. Softball size hail was going sideways off the sides of it, I guess. No windows broken in our house, but the roof and siding is beat to shit. All four vehicles got clobbered. Two newer vehicles Im pretty sure are totaled. Two older huntin sleds have liability only and probably just have to fix how ever much we want to fix em.
I have only seen hail like this once before and that was just outside Sturgis SD, we were right next to a tornado and got hit with similar hail.
Kinda stuck til we hear from the insurance agent tomorrow. I was kinda wanting a new truck. I guess maybe I will be gettin one?

Andy, it sucks to be you. LOL. Sorry to hear about this. Saw the storms this morning when I checked the weather before heading to the shop. Nemaha County, KS got, like, 6 inches of rain last night out of that system. Good to know the only stuff hurt was "stuff".

Hell, I've been thru not one, but two 6.8 earthquakes in my life and have to agree with CDude; as long as it's just 'stuff' it could have been worse. A lot worse.
Besides.............Dents in trucks add character. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Sorry to hear that Andy, I'm hoping none of that comes here. All the really bad storms come from the SW of here, and you are SW from here.

That's tough luck Andy!
They can do some pretty cool things with "paintless" dent repairs now days. Like was said, it's good it was only "things"!
Yesterday I was working on a 100year old barn roof and had a 2x4 slide off, it went down 40ft and right through my truck's windshield! I'm waiting on the insurance man tomorrow as well! Just "stuff" and although it sucks, no one got hurt so all is well.

Softball sized!?!? Dang, never saw any that big! Can you imagine getting clobbered by one of those!? I'd like to be a roofer in your neck of the woods. That's one way to keep a construction guy busy! Sorry to hear about it Andy.
I got clobbered by a couple of these a couple of weeks ago running to my truck for cover.

Wow! That sounds like one helluva crazy storm Andy. It had to be a bit scarey hearing that hail pound on the house. Glad to hear you and the family pulled through without anyone getting hurt.

I called my insurance agent yesterday. I called again this morning. There was a message on his machine saying his office is temporarily closed. This is Shelter Insurance BTW, who I have been with since I was 16.
I called his house. No answer. I called his cell. No answer. I called his dad. No answer. I called shelter and they said someone would get back to me in a day or two.
My mothers place was destroyed too. She called her agent yesterday, Farm Bureau. They called her back immediately, came out and looked and she already has a check in her bank account.
Im thinkin I will have a new insurance agency very soon. Not to mention I got some words for my current agent. And in a small area like this, I will see him soon.

Sorry to hear about the bad news, Andy. A few years before we bought our house, the shingles were beat off by large hail. We're not looking forward to a return of that stuff.
