Im off to the hospital for a Meylogram. Yay!!! They are just so much fun. Suck out spinal fluid and inject dye with a needle about like a 6 penny nail. Then stand you on your head and tilt you every which direction to get the dye in every nook and crany to see where the tight spots are that need cut during surgery. So, after they give the dye that feels alot like lava when injected, you lay on the tilting table for a good 45 minutes, then go lay in a MRI coffin for antoher 45 minutes, then in one of those really great soft hospital beds for 4 hours while they flush the dye out of you.

Side effects are burning legs, burning spine and the feeling someone his pounding your head with a 3lb hammer. The worst headache you can imagine, and that lasts for a couple days.

Now, thats just the experience I had last time I had one of these. They tell you when you go in its not too bad. Im sure they have never had it done. I have talked to others who said it didnt affect them the same. My doctor said some folks react to the dye differently. Maybe Im just lucky.

So, yall have a good day. I know I will. [Roll Eyes]

Andy,
I feel for you--my wife had one prior to her back surgery in '02. She never complains about ANYTHING, but that procedure brought her to her knees, literally.

The only thing that helped her was Excedrin Migraine and iced tea--guess caffiene helps with the pain.

Good luck on your procedure!

Thanks guys. It sucked. Im home, gotta lay flat for the the rest of the evening and night.

Not quite as bad as last time, not as much headahce, but the rest was the same. Caffeen does help. Ive been drinkin Monsters all afternoon.

I hate this. I have had somewhere around 16 Epideral Steroid Injections and two of these damn things. I know I will have to have this surgery and a couple more probably, but the last needle has been stuck in my back. I dont care what the docs say or what happens. I wont have another myelogram or esi.
