AzHunter had shoulder replacement surgery yesterday. This guy is the real deal and he deserves our thoughts and prayers for a full, complete, and quick recovery.

He changes his email almost as much as Lance, but the latest I have is: dvc@vtc.net

If you want his address, get well card, etc. email me and I will provide it.

Take it easy, bud! If you need anything, holler!

Good hunting. LB

Prayers on the way from Kentucky. I know all the guys here on the forum will be pulling for you, Vic.

I havent' changed my e-mail in the past ten years. You oughtta see the crap I get. LOL

Vic,

Be tough. My wife went through that a few months ago and is doing great now. Made her a little slow cooking dinner that night and I ran out of clean boxers sooner, but once the pain meds kicked in, she was right back in that kitchen doing what she does best! No rest for the weary, ya know.

Seriously, we're pulling for you, and if you need anything, Elbee's a lot closer to you than I am. Give him a call.

Get well!

Prayers sent from here in Illinois.

I've had three surgeries on my shoulders since a work injury in 1996, so I know some of what Vic might be facing.

Generally the meds will help but there will be discomfort. It's really hard to sleep unless you can sleep sitting up. Listen to the doctors and especially the physical therapists... you won't like doing their silly little workout routines but it will pay dividends later when the tendons heal.

Good luck Vic!

Vic;
We'll just dress Tim up in a nurse's white uniform & send him over. Just the thought of that ought to have you up & around a couple of days sooner. [Eek!]

Wow, you need to clean house. ikansas.net was before cebridge who later were bought out by eaglecom.net who still own the ISP. They also provide my cable, netflix and telephone. predatrcalls... is the e/m addy that comes from the website for call orders. I've been with eagle for, well, forever now.

I've been through two shoulder surgeries myself.

The replacement sounds like a good idea, as neither of my shoulders has been right since the surgeries.

It's a long road....good luck and feel better soon.

Get well Vic. Stay off the skateboard and let the shoulder heal up. [Smile]

My Dad had his rotator cuff re-attached several years ago and it meant some physical therapy time. One day, I asked him how the PT was going, and he said the therapist was a little bummed that Dad couldn't get his hand up to the height of his shoulder blades with his arm behind his back. Dad told the therapist in his simplistic sorta way that his shoulder was good enough because "Its not like I have to be able to hook a gawd damn bra."

I had both rotators done last fall. Not fun. Screwed up my whole huntin season.

Hang in there Vic. Get well soon.

Im goin in hopefully next Friday for a tri level fusion in my lumbar. Maybe we can play pain pill poker or somethin.... [Smile]

Maybe that will cure the flinch he has when shooting.

Good luck Vic and heal fast.

It's going to be good Vic. My mother-in-law had both shoulders replaced, one at a time in the last year. On each one, she said that she had less pain the day after surgery, than she had been living with prior. Recovery, physical therapy etc., she said the worst of it was easier and hurt less than what she had been dealing with.

So, congratulations on the new parts!

I thought he said it was complete replacement, not just rotator cup surgery? He said he wouldn't be allowed to shoot the big calibers any more. So for Vic, what does that mean....223?
Anyway, mend quickly Vic!

Since the surgery is already done I guess this won't hurt to be posted...

Here is a link to what the replacement surgery is like. If you're squimish... don't look!!!

Shoulder Replacement

They've come a very long way since my surgeries! The doc just chopped off about a 1/2" of the ball in my right shoulder and reground it smooth. Still has pain but at least I can use my arm now.

I have been trying to reach him all afternoon but there was no answer. Right after I saw his post above, I tried again and he picked up right away.

Now, I knew how he would feel about telling us what he had going on, before hand, (kinda shy and all) but at this point, he was very appreciative of the well wishes expressed on the Board.

He's not nearly as loopy as I thought he would be, either. No more 12 gauge shotguns, he has a hankering for a little 28gauge though.

Just take it easy, bud. Don't rush anything.

Oh, he said that link the nikonut posted is what he had done.

Good hunting. LB

PS he was surprised that it was 20gauge that spilled the beans to me.

Wow that looks like quite a procedure !

The only operation I've ever had was for a "hernia" about five years ago, afterword It kicked my ass for about a week, that procedure pales in comparison to what you went through.

Best wishes and best of luck for a solid recovery !
