Currently in Indiana. Driving our asses off. Blew one trailer tire yesterday, but otherwise a good trip. Looks like about 400 miles to go. Got my wife a laptop and she had a wireless connection so I am learning to be mobile with the internet. Expect reports from the Expo.

+1 on Al. I finally installed a wireless router in my house a couple weeks ago and entered the 21st century. Did it to be able to hook the hi-def tv to cable via ethernet so we can now stream free movies from Netflix straight to the telly. Absolutely da bomb! Went out and bought a netbook that I can use to write, surf the net, or watch movies from just about anywhere in my house and yard. Some of you may be thinking BFD. I think it's just too cool. Once I grow accustomed to the itsy bitsy li' keyboard, I'll be on fire! May have to be like the old geezers and take my netbook to the local coffee shop wannabe internet cafe and surf while I eat breakfast. LOL

Let us know how things are going, Cal.

P.S. BTW, has anyone ever made a long trip with a trailer that you didn't blow a tire? Thought it was just me.

Also, STAND BY FOR SIDETRACK.......Vandy just got upset and K-State is smoking North Texas with 15:51 left, 54-35. Go 'Cats!!!

I have a ROKU for streaming Netflix. It is the way to go. I watch want I want, watch when I want to watch it and if they don't offer it streaming I have a DVD in the mail.I'd rather watch John Wayne kill bad guys, than go to the expo, once was enough for me.

Go Cats!

Tell me how you hooked you TV up to via your Netflix? My wife has netflix and has been bugging me to set it up to watch on tv instead of her mac book.

Jeremy,

My internet is through my cable tv, so what I have is a router in my office hooked to my netflix-enabled bluray player in the family room via an ethernet cable which is the size of cable and connection you use to connect a modem to your computer. My cable provider came and wired it up for free.

Anyway, when you turn on the bluray after it is connected to the web, there's a place in the Watch Instantly menu that allows you to ask for an access code. Take the code, go to the computer, log onto NetFlix and go to the Watch Instantly forum and enter that code. That will establish the connection between your bluray/ TV and Netflix.

From there, you simply go online to Netflix on your computer, go to Watch Instantly which sends you to the plethora of titles available for watching instantly (about 17,000 titles), click on the blue "PLAY" button where it asks if you want it streamed to your computer or your tv. Click TV, turn on the bluray and go into the NetFlix menu and it'll be there waiting for you.

You need to be transferring a minimum of 3Mbs input on your tv signal for it to stream smoothly, and I think that there's ways to do it with satellite, too. Not for sure. Like Dan said, as long as you have the 1 DVD at a time (minimum) plan, you're eligible for this at no extra cost. I, too, am looking forward to being able to sit down and enjoy just about every friggin' John Wayne movie, or Clint Eastwood movie ever made and a buttload of others, too. Almost makes a a guy look forward to calling in sick so he has a reason to just lay around all day. My wife and daughter love it. We use the mail order side for bluray DVD's and new releases and the instant side for everything else we can find on there. All for less than $12 a month. I encourage anyone without NetFlix to get it. Extremely successful business - spent $6,000,000 on postage with my boss last year alone.

K-State won. Yomama picked K-State, K-Who, Kentucky and Villy for the final four. Would it not biblical to see KSU and KU face off again for the national title? Maybe we could beat them the fourth time. LOL Each time we played, we got a little closer. [Wink]

The ROKU is wireless connected to my Linksys wireless router. The router is fed from a wireless broadband server. The Roku is hard wired to the Vizio TV, and is remote controlled. Its about as painless as you can get.

Hell, I even looked on there for a movie filmed in 1969 called The Gypsy Moths. Starred Burt Lancaster and Gene Hackman. It was filmed right here in Abilene. They actualy have it. I just got on Amazon and ordered a copy of it to keep. Still a lot of 'hoods in that movie that look the same now.

One of the few times you will get something for free from a lawyer; when the event is over.....
Thanks, Brad! Sure to come in handy, one day! I'm might raffle it off, or keep it for a door prize at the next campout? Who wouldn't want something as historic as this for their scrap book? If it was personally autographed, that would be SO kool!

No problem Leonard. I don't know if the badge would get you anything or not. Probably at least get you in the door for free. I'll autograph it and send it back to you for your raffle. I only ask for 10% Word of warning....if you wear it at the Expo be sure to carry a stick to beat the women off. If they see my name you may be in trouble.

Brad is supposed to be here manning the booth. Been fun so far. Met Randy Reeves and Randy Shaw. 2 notables I hadn't met before. Plenty of others here. Fairly busy, but nothing compared to the show next door.

My apologies, Brad! A senior moment, I thought the event was concluded? Last week? Oh well. But I'm sorry that I was taking lawyer cheap shots, undeserved. Which is so rare, ya know?

Lord, forgive me and be with those starving pygmies.

Yeah, 3toes, let some member pin it on their cammies, so he can wander unrestricted. I assume everybody is wearing camo, right?

Shit, now why did I think this EXPO stuff was last week?

Now I remember........ Higgins told me!

AR Shaw AND Randy Reeves! Now, there's a pair to draw to. Boy, don't get much better than that!

Good hunting. LB

on the road home. really had a good time. not sure if I did any good business wise, but met alot of people and really had a fun weekend. Spent quite a bit of time with Mark Zepp and figured out he is truly on of the great people of the predator hunting world. One of the few there that doesn't play favorites and is friends with everybody regardless of brand affiliation! Spent quite a bit of time with the Dillons and was right next to their booth. Was right across from Jay and visited plenty and Jay seems like a really great guy. I watched him gather every kid that came by and give them a trinket or a call and show them something at his booth. Met plenty more great guys both in visitors and vendors and got to visit old friends like Les and Al, Gerald, and others. Even if I don't book a single hunt, it was worth the trip. Wish some of you others that I have and haven't met would have been there.

Actually, Cal. I almost regret not being there....except. It's in friggin' Ohio! Who would want to visit Ohio for any reason?

I do understand the economics of positioning the event across the street from another big draw, but it just sounds so illogical, a predator hunting EXPO in Ohio? I say, make them come to Phoenix or El Paso, or even Rock Springs?

We need to choke off this eastern coyote hunting, altogether. It don't make sense. These people will be just like DanS, making trips out west and making my hunting all the more difficult. (edit)Sorry, DanS, we love ya! Just using you as an example!

As I have said before, I'm not in favor of predator hunting becoming more popular. It's already way too popular, in my humble opinion.

Good hunting. LB

PS okay, I'm exaggerating a little bit. But only a little bit.

edit: How about your wife, Cal? Was she bored to death, or did she somewhat enjoy herself? Chatting up Jay sounds like all there was to do, for a female?

Yeah Leonard. I chatted up all the women. You should’a been there to keep ‘em away from me.

I mean it was okay that Zepp, Cal, Morris, Gerald, Byron, Todd, Jeff, Fergie, Anderson, etal were all there, but the most impressive thing for me about the expo wasn’t discovered until I got home. I was actually sitting across from a truly talented Country Singer for 3 whole days. I’m a big country fan and Cal’s wife, Sherry, has a wonderful voice that way exceeds the talent that long-time local bands ever have. You guys owe it to yourself to get her CD. I made the big foopa of asking Mrs. Taylor if the fox on the CD cover was her daughter. Lucky for me I waited until Cal was gone before I put my size 14 boot in my mouth. The CD is damn good. Hopefully next week one of my g-kids will put the songs on my mp3. I did feel somewhat cheated because there were only 8 songs on the disk.

The guy archery shooting balloons behind the back and aspirin was pretty cool.
