I am a new member and wish to introduce myself. I go by the handle Stiknstringbow on all the forums because I have been archery only for 22 years and Traditional for the last 6.
I have no predator hunting experience other than chance encounters while Elk, Deer, and Turkey hunting.
I am interested in learning calling techniques in order to harvest a bear, and possibly any other predator that I can.....
I cannot afford an electronic call, but like hand calls, except that I have so many that I cannot seem to figure out how to carry them all. (Elk,deer, turkey, and predator calls + grunt tube and Diaphragms.
I live near Chehalis,Washington, with my wife, 3 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 10 chickens.
I have 5 acres with my own 3D course on it to practice with my bows.
I have killed a couple 'yotes while Turkey hunting, but wish to actually do it on purpose some time, although bear, cougar, and bobcat are what I really wish to harvest.
I look forward to learning from the other members on this site, and (hopefully) sharing some success stories.

So, where the heck is Chehalis? My brother is in Tumwater. My son has a similiar homestead with critters and chickens, kinda Kool lifestyle.

Good hunting. LB

Chehalis is about 25 miles south of Tumwater.
We are 1/2 way between Portland and Seattle.
I moved down here to get out of town, it is great to be able to get off the freeway, go into stores etc.. without all the "spare Changers" and pan-handlers.
And nobody pays any attention when I walk into a store wearing camo....

Stiknstringbow ,Welcome. I used to live in Aberdene, Wa about 1974. I was thinning trees for the timber companies. We were out there with the rain and snow freezing our butts off but what a great time we had. The razor clam digging was great at Ocean Shores. Some of the mountains we climbed to thin trees were extremely steep. Gasoline was about .45 cents per gallon then and when it hit .52 cents I about scat myself LOL. Oh and by the way it's Coyote not Yote. [Smile]

Naw guys, Stik is a real dude, and a pretty good dude at that... he and I were discussing a couple of the forums from which I've been banned, as to their usefulness as sources of information relating to the pursuit of predators, and I suggested this one.

P.S. I will never play "identity games", I am me, and only me.

Yeah, the timing of your latest "act of boredom" (if that's what ya wanna call it), might not serve him so well.

And I vouched for you guys, too. [Roll Eyes]

I am a real person, and I promise not to use the "y" word again. As I stated before, I am new to the predator thing so I dont know the rules.
I hunt with recurves, so I wont be much competition, but hope to call in a bear this spring (if Drawn), and maybe kill another COYOTE or two while turkey hunting.
I see bears, cougars, and bobcats sometimes while out and about, and hope to be able to slow them down or make them come closer in hopes of getting a shot.
I also really appreciate the quality of some of those calls that I have seen, and hope to acquire a few nice ones for my collection.

Hi Stik, I hunt with a recurve as well, I take a couple coyotes every year with it just for fun. Im in a coyote rich area though and have to call in like 20 of em just to get a good shot at one.
Oh yeah,
Welcome sir.
Mark.

Dusty,

I'm glad you realized I was just joking, about the Prison. [Wink]

And I didn't think anyone was "after" Stik, I just didn't think it fair to connect he and I together, as one, or a pair.
No reason he should have to live with my reputation (online, or in the woods). [Smile]

But, dude does do everything the hard way, from his recurve bow, to beating himeslf to death trying to find and kill the eastern wild turkey, with it, here in western Washington (which makes hunting coyotes here look easy)...
So he's a glutton for punishment, and should have no problem taking the fun poked his way.

Stik,

I hope to get my shop up and running again, soon, maybe we can get you a nice call. [Wink]
That part of my reputation is considered by many, worth getting attached to.

I wasn't ignoring anybody intentionally...
I do not belong to Capital City Bowmen, I belong to Traditional Bowhunters of Washington, and Washington State Bowhunters.
I am pretty secure with myself, so poke all the fun you want.
