This evening we were driving through in North Denver - an extremely urban area. There are a few creeks and streams and small rivers that run all over Denver with little open spaces here and there. it was really strange when my daughter shouted, "Coyote coyote". Sure as the dickens, there was a coyote (obviously never been shot at) just standing there 15 yards away just looking at us.
The reason I wanted the camera is because the sign, right behind it, on the telephone pole was a MISSING KITTY poster. Man that was funny!

I was sitting on a shotgun stand a while back & had a Redtail Hawk land on the ground between me & the caller. Maybe 15 feet away. The bird spent the next 5 minutes walking around the caller looking really confused. The camera was in the truck. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)
Here's a fun idea; For Father's Day, ask for a trail camera. With a bag of cat food and some signs, you & the critters could 'compose' some pretty neat photos.

We have a few coyotes here. This is a solid suburban environment for at least 30 miles in every direction, except due north there are some very high mountains.
One of my favorite memories is stopping for a school crossing guard on north Mountain Av. She had both north and south traffic stopped while she escorted a couple kids from east to west, on 13th St. There was a coyote that crossed behind them and right in front of me. He slipped into the shrubs on the far side and I don't think anybody else noticed, or if they did, thought it was a pet dog walking home with the kids?
Not an every day occurance, for sure. They stand their ground, while on cat patrol. Poor little critters have to eat!
