Anyone ever been to Nova Scotia and seen a total eclipse of the sun???
Posted by Dave Allen (Member # 3102) on February 05, 2010, 09:55 PM:
Hmmmm, now that song is stuck in my head
Nova Scotia, man I'm stumped on that one Lonny.
We have XM radio at work, maybe I'll turn it to the 70's tomorrow and see if this song comes on,perhaps its something in the lyrics ?
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on February 05, 2010, 10:07 PM:
It absolutely is the lyrics, Dave Allen.
You're where you should be all the time and when you're not you're with the wife of a close friend, wife of a close friend....
Great song, hot artist, legs that go all the way up. I heard once that she gets huge stagefright before a performance? Former husband James Taylor is the creep in the song.
Good hunting. LB

Dave, Something like that, and the only part of the song I could remember after reading Loco's post.
Leonard, we need to start a "What's your favorite song" thread. BWAAHAAAHAAAHAA That should bring back a memory or two...
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on February 05, 2010, 10:26 PM:
Sure does! Goes way back. Mocked PM for lame shit like that, "what's your favorite song?"
If this thread goes south, Danny, it's your fault!
Good hunting. LB
Maybe it already has, eh?

She is good looking for sure, but I think she got extra teeth reminds me of the grill work on a 49 merc.
Posted by JoeF (Member # 228) on February 06, 2010, 06:49 AM:
Wow, this song has popped in to my mind off and on from out of nowhere for years.
Haven't heard it in years but I bet that I could probably "set" down and write out the complete lyrics. The part ELBE started is one of my favorites:
"You're where you should be all the time and when you're not you're with some underworld spy, or the wife of a close friend, wife of a close friend..."
Between this and Jimi singing "There's a red house over yonder, that's where my baby stays" I'm sure to have a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Time to head out with the youngun to stomp some brush and kill some coyotee food!

I thought the song was about Warren Beatty.
Posted by Dusty Hunter (Member # 1031) on February 06, 2010, 08:04 AM:
Carley said the song is a little bit about Warren Beatty. She also says that Warren called her and thanked her for the song.

According to my wife, rumors have it the creep is Warren Beatty. The wife also says J Taylor and her are still good friends. I don't know and personally don't care about the entertainment crowd.

PLAY FREEBIRD!
49 Merc? You ain't old enough to know anything about a 49 Merc! My dad had a metalic green '50 Lincoln. Pretty cool, back in the day. No mudflaps. Back then, those Minneesota hicks had to have mud flaps with little red reflectors all over them, .... and fender skirts!
Warren Beatty? Okay, if you say so? He's a jerk, that's for sure, reputed to be quite a Lady's Man, if you know what I mean?
Good hunting. LB

As for the teeth thing, rumor has it that she never got her teeth fixed because she thought it might change the acoustics in her mouth.
I couldn't testify to the veracity of such a rumor, but it does seem to make some sense.
Edit cuse I kant spel.

No complaints here Leonard.

"...copper gaskets and babbitt bearings..." copper gaskets have been gone for several decades. They still have babbitt bearings. They are just made at the factory instead of being poured and cut to fit like the old days. Today, there are cars that pay 16 hours to change a timing chain. You could do an in chassis overhaul on those old flat heads in 16 hours. You usually get 200,000 miles on these new engines before needing OH.

Now settle down , Leonard I said she is beautiful and her mouthfull of teeth just add to that. by he way way the grll on on merc wasnt bad either.
aznative back then you could do a valve job without a machine shop lol
Great old cars but I prefer driving my current truck.they are really much better now!

I'm settled, I'm settled. When she calls, you are going to look pretty stu pid; and don't think I won't tell her what all of you have been saying about her! Teeth fixed, my ass!
Good hunting. LB
Hey, some game on today? In the old days, I was always on a trip on SB weekend. If I got to see it at all it was while warming up in a casino, somewhere in the middle of NV. I only watch it bc there's nothing else on after golf.
Posted by Locohead (Member # 15) on February 07, 2010, 02:40 PM:
Is today the Super Bowl? Who's playing? I can't stand to watch the NFL anymore. I don't recognize half the teams.
I'm taking my chick out for dinner and a movie!
edit: 'the' to 'my'

^ what he said.
I was just scrounging around for some brass. I only have 24 empties and I'm needing a fur bullet. Well, I think I'll chamber these 40 grainers, and then load the magazine ("clip" for you retards) with the more destructive 55's. That's at least 24 animals.
Good hunting. LB
edit: I'll probably load some fireforming loads, but I really don't like to actually hunt with them!

40 years ago I would have said "Out of sight man". Today, I say look at these old geezers act like their 20 something.

Attention Dan
Az has not misspelled "their" but it is incorrect, no? It should read they're a contraction of they are. You see what a slippery slope it is when we allow correctly spelled, but misused words? Like Capitol?
Posted by Az-Hunter (Member # 17) on February 07, 2010, 06:37 PM:
Tell em Leonard! The words we use, and the way we use them, are the yardstick by which others measure our intelligence.
Posted by Aznative (Member # 506) on February 07, 2010, 07:10 PM:
Oh Crap. Don't sic Dan after me Leonard. I should've run it thru MS Word with the hope that its grammar checker would've picked up the error.
Hey, I was in a hurry to get back before that crappy game started. Besides George W was a butcher of the Queen's English but at least everyone knew what he said. This moon bat talks smoother than Carely's butt, and the political pundits can't figure him out.
