Hows everybody doin? I just wanted to stop by and show ya all some pics. I set some traps after Geordie told me to get rid of my crap traps and buy some good ones so I got some MB 550's. I set out 5 sets last tues and wed I had a lil grey. I was damn tickled but after the lil diggers got me one more night i pulled up from that property and headed for some coyotes. I set out 9 sets fri and then went back sunday after it had rained on them sat to dry them all back in and when i pulled in the pasture two coyotes were standing over a set digging at the hole. Lucky me huh, I spooked em before they got caught. Well after drying all my sets back in yesterday my cameraman and I went back this morning to try to put some coyotes on film at that farm and had one in the set they were standing at the morning before and one about 100yrds up from her. So I got two. The female was dark so I know she was one from yesterday morning but the big male in the pics,,,who knows but I got em. Ive been agravating JD Piatt. Geordie, and ARShaw for a year on the phone trying to learn how to trap and I guess Ive got a start, thanks to them. Its kind of a aquired taste but I think i like it.
edit: That goofy looking thing in my hand in the fox pic is a mic off of my solid state recorder, had to get them sounds.

One thing about trapping; It will teach you to observe sign like nothing else.

Sure looks like fun! I've always wanted to give it whirl too. Will you be making it to St. Francis this year Steve? Hope to see you again - not sure I'll make it this year. Lead foot Danny has lost his driver's license again!

I didn't know you trapped Steve? I always thought you were just a deer hunter. Nice job.

Good hunting.

Eew! That was a low blow.

But I remember when I met "Unknown" at the campout a few years ago, the thing that stuck with me was that he was proudly holding up three or four inches of coyote tail and I guess it was all he managed to hit? A miracle shot for sure, but I was pretty sure he was green as grass, at the time, which is not a crime, by the way.

You've come a long way baby! Did you catch how he throws out casual coments about "his cameraman". Doesn't everybody have one?

Is Q picking on ya, or what?

Good hunting. LB

edit: oops, what I meant to say, Steve. Thanks for posting!

Leonard, I was having a bit of hard luck hitting on that trip and I was proud of that tail. Who else got a piece of tail on that trip????Lmao.
I think Im going to quit mentioning the cameraman, hes just part of the story anymore beins he is around every time i go hunting. Just my job I cant help it, maybe though just maybe one of these prostaffers is alright. Just maybe.

edit: WOOPS! i meant to say, Thanks Leonard for the reply. I like this board!

Glad you like it here, Mr Criner!

Steve,

Leonard's soon to be a trapper too, but not until he's grown Rocky to a good 25 lbs. or so - it seems! He ought to be gettin' close?

P.S. Did you read the TOS? not sure if its even mentioned but I can assure you, "anything you say or type can and will be used against you..." [Smile]

Im glad you let me hang around. Yah I was green on that trip.I never could afford to hunt anywere but MO. and trust me 10 or 11 years before that trip of hunting in MO straight for coyotes is pretty freekin boring.
