Yes, a fine time was had by all. Of course, some people got a shower, Randy Shaw and Kelly Jackson. How can you trust a man that can't go a week without bathing?

That photo of me eating from an LSU tray. A nice souvenir, to be sure, and Ragin cajn himself served his gumbo and boudin, (is that right) on the tray, however, it is the height of hypocrisy, knowing what I now know, that LSU lost that very afternoon while USC won.

Now something to remember. As we all know, that classic photo of "R Shaw" last year, and now he will forever be known as AR Shaw, holding that machine gun.

Well, now I know the scam, and don't ever fall for it. One guy takes a seat next to you with an AR and hands it to you, asking; "check the trigger". Repeat, do not fall for this because he has a shameless (and sneaky) accomplice with a camera off to the side. I will pay $100 if he will destroy the negative.

Well, it was all in good fun, the weather was pleasant, the suroundings were classic southern Arizona. Clint, Randy Reeves and Okhunter killed an even dozen gray fox on Friday, which is quite a feat, judging by my experience, which is; you call a lot more of them at night than in the daytime, yet I have never seen a dozen at night, anywhere. Randy got his first AZ double on coyotes, perhaps Fred, (Dusty Hunter) did the best job on coyotes, seven one day? There were plenty animals killed, I don't think anybody was shut out?

Of course, everybody missed SMOKE DANCER. Goes without saying. And, there were a few people that got lost somewhere, like Steve Craig and Higgins? We made friends with the local rancher, Cody, who was a frequent participant in the serious discussions we had, solving the problems of mankind and praising our new and glorious leader of the new world order...no CAPS, thank you!

Let's see some pics. Unbelieveably, I did not take a single photo, what's with that? Shameful!

Good hunting. LB

Leonard; Not to worry. I'm the shameless, sneakey one with the camera.......... and WebTV. The photo of you sitting in a puddle of your own drool while holding that machine gun came out quite nice but I don't have the 'puter gizmos to post pictures.

Well, you're forgiven for bringing me those jumper cables. However, it was to no avail as I had to buy a battery when I stopped for lunch, and it wouldn't start! But, that combined with the damned flat, miles from nowhere, made for a wonderful road trip.

Good hunting. LB

Once again Leonard it was a great week. To a man, fine folks all.

Yeah, I listened on Sirius Radio as my LSU tigers got beat by the number 3 team in the nation. I wasn't able to find the Game where USC beat the women's league team from Tempe by 5 points, but congrats on the win.

BTW, I allmost forgot the highlight where I did get a longtailed cat while there. I didn't get a picture, maybe someone that did can post it.

Thanks for a good time everyone.

Kelly

PS - LB the lady I sat next to on the plane really was glad that I had taken a shower. Thx Dan.

On a side note all the folks I ran into at the airport were very pro hunting this trip. It was good to see.

edit to add a couple of pics of the Ram that Paul and I ran across.

Yeah, we all marveled at the skill and luck involved in bagging that long tail. When I first looked in the bed of his truck, the critter looked a lot like the one that rooms with me and who stayed behind, holding down the fort. There was even a nasty rumor that it wasn't killed with a bullet? Makes you wonder, donut?

Good hunting. LB

Yeah, that was a real trophy. A bowie ocelotapus.

I was driving my 98 Toyota Tundra running on Cooper Tires. The elusive Bowie Longtail Tomcat did not stand a chance with the unique handling ability of this total package. He never saw me in the driver's seat because I was wearing my Natgear camo and had on some Rayban sunglasses. As I felt the impact under the tires, I knew right away he was DRT. The antilock brakes on this Toyota helped me to get stopped and I hit the pavement running in my Rocky boots. As I collected this pride, my mind raced, thinking how could I ever repay all the manufacturers that helped me achieve this prize.

Then it hit me, all I had to do was write a review and detail the experience, thus ensuring my self of a prostaff position from at least one.

I want to thank all those involved, for without their assistance and quality products, I could not accomplished it with such ease.

Interesting? My younger sister passed away last night at eight o clock, Pacific. Cancer. If anybody wondered why I was driving up the hill for reception, it was for updates.

Dusty, Elizabeth said to tell you and Mary Ann, "HI". We had lunch at the Cracker barrel next to Cabela's and afterwards, she drove me to Walmart to buy a battery....24F group, in fact. Now, I have 2, since Sears replaced mine when I got home, @ no charge, less than two years old, the GOLD battery. They don't make them like they used to, do they?

The tire store had to order me a replacement 285/70R/17, I am awaiting the call. Road hazzard insurance came in handy, for once. Now, it remains to be seen if Walmart will take back a battery I don't need? Well, if they don't, it got me home, so......

Good hunting. LB

PS, am told Sears is in trouble? Looking at my receipt, I paid $129, two years ago. The Walmart battery was $86. I used to think a decent grade of battery bought reliability....then I looked under the hood at kokopelli's, and was amazed that it was still working! Just goes to show ya, you can't judge a book by it's cover. My dead battery looked brand new!

Thanks for the condolences, everybody.

Okay, got the tire. That $250 two year old tire was $438 today. The orig. $24 cost for road hazzard policy was $44 this afternoon plus balancing etc. so cost me $63 to mount that free tire.

Then I went to Walmart. It took almost as long as the tire shop because of one little thing. They charged me five bucks core charge and it's $9 in California....just because it's California. Like, unleaded here is still about $2.99 but in a few places south of Tucson, I paid $2.29. Why? Because it's California.

Getting back to the core charge and the difference in the sales tax between CA and AZ and finding a manager to okay my $0.62 profit, which they paid in cash, rather than screwing up a debit and credit transaction that wasn't the same amount on my Mastercard. Sounds easy, in theory, but Walmart has some/ well, nevermind!

It was all quite exhausting, but I have a new tire and a new battery so the adventure continues.

Good hunting. LB

PS

I really need to clean my truck, and those new pinstripes are really BAD!

edit: I'm going to blame AR Shaw for the pinstripes because he wouldn't let me prune obstructing twigs. I mean...he probably would have let me do it but he would have made fun of me for it, and then he thought Geordie was doing the same to his new rig. Well, you have to break it in sometime. I guess? Then, Elizabeth said: "Nancy would scream if she saw all these scratches". I have to admit, she would be right. [Confused]

Leonard,
Sorry to hear about your sister. Sisters are special. I have 5.

Sorry I missed the show. Got a call from a paint client on Wednesday evening(was ready to pull out thursday morning). She wanted to meet me on Friday afternoon late, to bid a job. It was about $35,000, so i just couldnt turn her down. Then met with her friend the next day. Turned out to be a good payday for me, so couldnt make the campout. It wasnt from a lack of trying though. Wish I could have been there. sounds like you guys had some fun.
Steve
