Yeah, Clever Gary banned my ass! And, I dint even do nuthin'? Too bad, 'cause he changed most things that desperately needed change. Well, he's a friggin' Liberal and, as everybody knows: they think they are free to do things that they would restrict others from doing. I'd bet a dollar he voted for Obama? If he has 99 members, as he says, I (also) bet 98 of them didn't vote for change they can believe in?

Kind of a slow motion knee jerk, didn't you ban Rich Higgins a few months ago?
Honestly there's a part of me that wants to polk around over there, but I told GC that I can no longer participate on his site. No, it has nothing to do with any possible law suite activity on anyones part, a month or so ago the bashing simply went over the top for me and walking away was all I could do.

Dan - All I know is that there's a global, stuck and locked post on P-masters related to possible legal action, I know nothing else, but I'm still free to guess, and it would be only a guess as to what they are talking about. Further comment on my part related to any future action is limited to what I just wrote.

Gary seems a little upset at me also because I try to keep the record straight regarding Jay Nistetter. It sounds like Jay has been banned from there and can't defend himself but they still keep hammering the guy. I see no glory in hammering the man over something that is now history.

I've been trying to stay out of the latest dust up, I'm sorry to see these guys gone from the moderating staff - GC, Curt Barrett, Knockemdown, Randy Watson, and Randy Reeves - some of those guys have been on the board for a very long time and others have tried to serve them well. I guess the board is moving forward as best it can.

I must preface my remarks by stating to all that I have no dog in this fight and do not choose to let loose the leash now, but there's a high degree of irony in that statement right there.
I applaud Mike for his efforts to put this all behind us, all of us, but it does no good when instigators continue to operate and counter every measure taken to win the peace.
I personally don't get it...
Aside from a few people who have a legitimate grievance for having suffered damages, i.e., Higgins for his loss of opportunity at the Expo based upon slanderous and libelous remarks made with the obvious intent to defame his character over the past three years based solely upon a short statement taken, for all intents and purposes, out of context, and Dan for his loss of business opportunity from his being banned, the vast majority of cheerleaders at PM are guys who have, at some time or another, either through purchase or brand loyalty for other reasons, donned a sweater and skirt with Fox Pro emblazoned across the front, thinking that they were part of something positive for the industry. Watching these guys post in support of efforts which serve only to damage and bring to question the industry as a whole like a bunch of giddy children reminds me of those dumbasses you see protesting on TV, carrying picket signs, turning cars over, starting fires and looting, all the while with big grins on their faces and obviously totally oblivious to the subject of the protest, but happy to be there because it makes them feel like they're a part of something "real".
Having visited with Mike and Steve Dillon on this very subject, I came away from that discussion fully convinced that they don't support this behavior, they don't encourage it, nor do they want it.
In an effort NOT to piss off half the community, they've wisely chosen not to become directly involved with the fight - either side. They really are between a rock and a hard place here and I think that they know full well that this problem would go away if some people would simply sit down and shut the "F" up. But some people have dug such a hole for themselves now that there seems to be no way for them to climb out and save face at the same time. In fact, they've dug so many holes you'd think they were in the business of selling the damned things.
Therefore, I submit the following proposal: This needs to end. The entire issue does absolutely nothing for the players, and the industry as a whole. In fact, it is degrading to us as as community and the fact that we allow this to continue beings shame upon us all.
Good people have had their characters besmirched, and all because others with whom they've engaged in open debate can't agree to disagree. The older I get, the more I find that a lot of people don't agree with me. That's okay, since the world goes on. Life's too short.
Do some people have to be so damned right that they're willing to destroy another man's ability to make living, bring down entire institutions, or permanently tarnish how an obviously uninformed public looks at someone with whom they simply do not agree based upon willfully manipulated facts, fictions and agendas?
I've sought as good and full an understanding of this shit storm as I can, from the outside, and from where I sit, pretty much everyone involved has screwed up somewhere along the way. Now, everyone's so damned intent on saving their own butts that no one is making an effort to keep their head above water and the whole damned lot are going down together.
Everyone screwed up. Everyone looks stupid. Everyone has egg on their face. Let it go. Put it behind us. Agree to disagree and promise that, no matter what, this should never be brought up again.
Or, just keep tearing things down. It'll be interesting to see where it ends. Sad, but interesting.
Now, my dog and I will go back to the corner and watch the de-evolution of the industry from a safe distance since none of this is doing anything to save anything.
P.S. Anyone who threatens a lawsuit generally has never been involved in a lawsuit. the only people who get rich are the attorneys and, when the dust clears, everyone in the room has been given a guided tour through your underwear drawer. Been on the chasing side of one, and it'll take a damned heinous act to get me to go down that road again, despite the fact that we won. Sorta.

Just my point, Rich. You're either part of the problem, or part of the solution. Everyone knows that you and Higgins don't get along. You never pass up a chance to take a dig, do you? Sound familiar? What have you gained from the tension it causes you? The satisfaction that you can hold a gruydge when no one else really cares? I'm okay with you holding that opinion so near and dear. Higgins gives you a little crap on the forums and you take it all personal. Hold onto it if you want. But, for what? Get over it already.
