I just heard that JH got busted after an 18 month sting, on 44 counts of animal cruelty!
Vic, Tim, whats the word?

That's interesting!
I do recall that driving past his father's place, there was usually conversation about tied up dogs?
And, just a local rumor, but I also heard that "The Nation" subsisted on coyote carcases and very little else.
Good hunting. LB

I googled the hell out of everything I could think of and cant find a thing about it.
I hope if he was charged, it is legit and he deserved it. I hope it wasnt some chickenshit liberal outfit with trumped up bullshit charges.
However, how ironic would it be if he was taken down by a progressive liberal chickenshit outfit? ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

Ohh.....it happened! He just got arrested. At first, he resisted, but then went quiet like. 3 animals were put to sleep on the spot.
No trumped up charges either. He was being investigated for over 18 months. Hard telling what else he will be hung with. [ June 05, 2009, 02:49 PM: Message edited by: Steve Craig ]

Well, I don't know the meaning, but of the 44 counts , one says "unlawful keeping of animals" and the rest say, "local charge"?
I can't even tell ya if he was released on "OR", or made bail or, maybe he didn't get sprung; so that's the three possibilities? It also says June 10, order to show cause, and an initial appearance on June 16.
Personally, I assure everybody; I take no pleasure in his (apparent) misfortunes.
Good hunting. LB

It does say uniform citation. Here, that means a summons was issued, so he was probably released OR.

For those interested in this...
I'm new here, but I recognise some of the names. Hopefully, some will recognise me as well.
I heard about this thread in a phone call from a friend of mine in NM, while on my way home from Tucson yesterday. I made a few phone calls to see if I could figure out for sure what happened.
One was to a long time friend of J-H, who lives nearby. I was told that he was cited, and that the charges were for minor offenses.
Then I called a friend I introduced to coyote calling back in the mid-1980's, who's now an LEO who works for CCSO (Cochise County Sheriff's Office) out of Douglas. He told me that he was, unfortunately (his words), the one who was asked to deliver the citations, and all were misdemeanors.
Three dogs were taken, and I was told that he'll likely get them back.
He was not arrested, did not resist arrest, and no animals were put down. I was told that he was "agreeable", and is "a nice guy".
FWIW.

Welcome to The New Huntmasters, Daryl. Glad to have you on board.
We met briefly at the first Predator Masters Hunt in Globe, and I know you are a good friend of JH. Thanks for the information.
Good hunting. LB

I remember you, LB. It's been a while.
And thanks for the kind words and the welcome.
Actually, I haven't heard much from J-H in several months, although I don't think either of us holds much against the other. Just seems like he's in his world, and I'm in mine these days.
But I'm a curious sort of fella, so when I hear something like that about someone I know, I figure I should maybe try to figure out what happened. Andy's a good friend of mine too (if he's the Andy I'm thinking of), so I figured I'd share what I found out.
And in the process, it seems like I found where many of the old crowd disappeared to.

Az has a great search site for any case in the state. I use it on potential renters. Here is the link to the basic search site with John Henry's name used: http://apps.supremecourt.az.gov/publicaccess/caselookup.aspx
The case number's last 12 digits will look like this for a new case CR-200912345 or CR-2009?????. Cr stands for Criminal. Tr stands for Traffic. and CV stands for Civil. The next four digits are the year. The last digits are the case number. The barebones search site is here: http://apps.supremecourt.az.gov/publicaccess/
In the last column they show which court it is in. I would think the case would be in Cochise county superior court.
Hope this helps.
