That's a good one! Go around and nail up fake "No Hunting" signs. They're just frustrated because of all the laws targeting their weed.

Good hunting. LB

Quote; "The indiscriminate killing of coyotes only causes a boom in their population". Brooks Fahy, Executive Director, Predator Defense.

Let us all repete that slowly and say the words out loud........

"The Indiscriminate Killing Of Coyotes Only Causes A Boom In Their Population".

Sooooo......... I am to understand that if I change my ways and go out in April or May and kill as many wet bitches as possible......there will be MORE coyotes around when the prices come back up????

Yeah.......I see on her web site that she also wants to ban 1080. I thought that Nixon did that back in '72, but what do I know......

1080 is still being used (very poorly) in livestock protection collars. But it isn't available to be used in bait of any kind. The collars have 1080 inside of them and when a coyote bites into it, it recieves the 1080. Trouble is you can't put collars on 2000 head of sheep and the coyote rarely kills the right one.

But I'm glad to hear that according to RedFrog and the writer they are able to "wipe out" the predator population. [Big Grin]

Well I for one am damn glad they are killing those coyotes to save the "baby deer, elk and pronghorn sheep" WTF! Baby deer and pronghorn sheep???? That reminds me of the time when driving through Glacier Park and this Asian dude was filming some goats standing in the road. I overheard him repeatedly refer to the goats as "bighorn sheep" and only the males have "spikes".

And saving the Apache tribe thousands of dollars so they don't have to hire "federally funded contractors to hunt predator species by helicoptor, whereas the Predator Masters are doing the same work for free." I didn't know PM had helicoptors?

Hire, and federally funded, are two different things also. [Big Grin]

But no matter, I'm glad they are down there having fun. I'm pretty sure a chopper could kill more there in a few hours than the PM crew will all week.

And, I thought they only used aircraft to spot trophy elk for the high dollar clients? Or was that only on the Jicarillo? I forget?

Good hunting. LB

I'm not sure Leonard, I think they kind of write thier own rules. I'm sure they would have to hire a private outfit to do that kind of flying.

Quote: "In the past, the tribe has spent thousands of dollars hiring federally funded contractors to hunt predator species by helicopter, whereas the Predator Masters are doing the same work for free, Nofchissey said."

Recreational callers killing SOME coyotes and educating a heck of a lot more during the prime fur season is hardly the same as having helicopters removing far more coyotes that need to be killed prior to fawn drop. Recreational hunters target the largest populations. WS targets specific populations of coyotes at specific times of the year.

Quote: "The indiscriminate killing of coyotes only causes a boom in their population," Fahy said."

Wrong!

In most situations, coyote populations are far more affected by prey availability and habitat than by harvest levels.

Quote: "Fahy added that if coyotes are wiped out from an area, it means that area will see an increase in rodents, which can be even more problematic to landowners."

Wrong!

The rodent population affects the predator populations, not visa versa. Any biologist worth his salt knows that.

So...the self appointed expert doesn't have her facts straight? How unusual!

Good hunting. LB

She got her facts straight for the horses mouth, or was it from the horses ass, no it was from the northern frog. You know how them socialists are.

Ok.........Now I am truely confused. I though that the 'Livestock Protection Collar' was the darling of the Animal Rights crowd in that only the offending coyote was self targeted as opposed to the kill 'em all concept.

Could it be that these people don't know what the FLOCK they're talking about???
