I got a phone call about 5:30 this evening with a message that someone had broken in to my rental house and was stealing things. I had my wife call 911 and I drove down there to find the same witch who tried to burn that house down awhile back. She tried to run away, but I caught her and held her down until the police arrived. They likely won't do anything to her anyway. I am going to sell that house now. Screw it!

[Eek!] I can't say that I'd be surprised if they don't do anything. I hope that's not the case.

Good luck! I sure hope you do well. In these parts if you can sell your home for a bunch less than it used to be valued, you're in fine condition. Lots and lots of homes just plain won't sell these days. I plan on listing mine this Spring too.

Seems like you posted a while back about the lady that tried to burn the house down. Nothing happened to her?!?! What was she doing over there this time? Did she have any of your stuff in possesion? Was there damage or loss this time? Lots of kookie folks in this world. Sorry that happend to you.

Rich, your much more patient than I am. I would have been in jail by now.

Loco, I have to have my properties appraised every year for our business to show asset value. I was pleasantly surprised to see it went up by 8% over last year with no major work done on them. Not only surprised, but couldnt hardly believe my eyes....

Locohead,
That is the same girl and same house ok. Her trial was scheduled for this month, but the prosecuter was granted a judgeship. The trial has been delayed while a new prosecuter bones up on all of the details. The wheels of justice turn slowly. I am trying to handle this thing legally, but it is getting harder for me to hold myself back. It is somewhat pleasing to recall her begging me to let her up. " Please-Pleeezzze, I can't breath, pant-pant, I'm gonna have an asmah attack, pant-pant" . [Wink]

We had a fellow here at work who’s father was being harassed. They burned his warehouse, a big garage full of home decoration products. Occasionally someone would sneak up to his pool late at night and shoot a gun. Not being the type of family to let that sort of thing slide, they talked to the police. Since the police couldn’t do anything they found out as much information as they could on how to handle the situation including the proper way to hold someone on a citizens arrest. They started a 24 hour a day watch including the use of night vision equipment.

About two weeks into the watch, one of the young brothers wives came home, but she was fallowed up the long drive by a car with it’s lights shut off. When she stopped the family approached the car and held the driver for the cops. They followed every rule, no violence, no threat, no pointed guns. The guy said he pulled into their driveway because he was hiding from the cops! The police showed up and arrested the guy. You’d think this was the right thing to do…….. The next day the police showed up at work and arrested the fellow on ….. get this ….. KIDNAPPING! Where’s the justice in that. Who knows what would have happened to the young wife if they weren’t there to stop this guy. The family tried to fight it, but their insurance company paid $125,000 to settle the claim WITHOUT THEIR CONCENT.

I hope you have better luck than my friend did.

Well Michael, up to this point I have been trying to take care of this problem with help from the police. This would have worked very well back in the 1980's. Now it seems that a large percentage of the policemen here are unaware or uncaring when it comes to proper procedures of crime reporting or investigation of crimes.

Andy,

I'm jealous. Interest rates are about 5%. Maybe you ought to re-fi, a fixed interest rate on debt where the dollar is going to pot anyway might not be so bad!?!? Weird thought huh? Call me loco. [Smile]
