Hard to say, this early, but if USC starts to get in gear, we just might have a decent football team, this year? The only problem is that Pete Carrol doesn't run up the score against a beaten team, as does Oklahoma.

Good hunting. LB

Oh…USC. When you said local, I thought you might be talking about UCLA. [Eek!] [Confused]

You sound mightly proud of something, Bryan? Did one of your two local teams stomp the shit out of one of mine? Ran up the score with the first string, did they? Yeah, that always shows a bit of class. Very little. SC was playing a freshman Qback in the 4th quarter. Ya know? [Smile]

Good hunting. LB

I’m a USU (usually ranked at or very near the bottom) fan so I rarely have anything to crow about. I know full well how the UCLA fans are feeling. I hope my Aggies can hold BYU to 49 or less.

As I recall Leonard, the BYU second string went in sometime in the 3rd quarter. Guys who haven’t live tackled since their scrimmage back around the first of August. I guess they should have put the scrubs in to start the third? Maybe sometime in the second quarter?

I don’t know that I’m proud of anything, but, I’m not going to apologize for smiling a little if a team from the lowly (no schedule) Mountain West can school a team from the elite PAC 10 even if that team is BYU.

[Eek!] [Confused] again wondering why UCLA didn't get on the plane. [Eek!] [Confused]

What's a red shirted freshman supposed to do when they miss 3 tackles and he's still on his feet?

You have USC and then everyone else.

The Pac-10 is pretty weak minus USC. There are at least 3 mountain west teams that could probably beat all of the pac teams except for usc.

Brad, last year was, (well?) last year, right? I'm sure OK will get some votes for merit and some anti USC votes, as well. SMAK! SMAK!

Good hunting. LB

Damn Leonard, JD is the one who called your coach a pussy.

If USC and OU make it to Miami, I say you find your way out there and I will get you a ticket sitting right by me for the game. I am not a believer in OU yet. They probably will lose a game they shouldn't.

Better yet, if you truly love college football, come to Oklahoma and I'll put you up and we can go to a game and shoot a few coyotes as well. I don't have much access around Miami.

Okay, I will give the offer due consideration. And, yes.

I noticed JD's rude comment.(grrr) That's real funny because SC slaughtered Nebraska last year, and he still hasn't gotten over it?

Hey, with Cal coming down to the campout, I'd sure like to see you, too. It would make me feel more secure knowing there is at least one more amateur around the campfire.

Good hunting. LB

Maybe Oklahoma can pick up a few first place votes if they can hold off a #24 TCU team on Saturday.

How did things go in Oregon? SMAK!!!!!!

You better just plan on coming to Oklahoma to shoot coyotes and forget about Miami!

I'm just going to hide my head and apologize for that miserable performance. A bunch of bums. They were outplayed in every aspect of the game from start to finish. [Frown] I don't know what it is but they sure got some mojo going up there?

But, 11º? It don't get that cold in tropical Oklahoma, does it?

For those of you that don't know, I don't watch football and know nothing about it. College, Pro, whatever. But I did get to have some fun at Brads expense. I had stopped by the local tavern for a "so long" beer with a couple hunters and lo and behold the OU/Texas game was on. I started texting him as soon as OU started losing and it was great fun. Last football game I watched, Brad and his brothers were here hunting and we had to stop to watch OU and Nebraska (several years ago) I picked Nebraska and took several bets. Couldn't have everybody cheering for the same team. Anyway Nebraska upset them and the Okies took it hard. I'm not sure if I ever did collect on my bets. With what happens to OU when I watch a game, I'm betting Brad never invites me to an OU game anywhere.

They are nothing, if not die hard fans, that's for sure. And, it's great sport needling them. However, in recent years, I have developed a sympathy for residents of that small state, battling their much bigger and obnoxious neighbor; who never seem able to take a joke? (just kidding; locals!)
see what I mean?

I'd rather see Oklahoma on top, to be honest.

Good hunting. LB

I don't care much about football but it is fun to rib back and forth when your the team everyone loves to hate.

Now my preacher, he's an OSU grad and always seems to find time to throw a punch from the pulpit when the opportunity arises.

Leonard - USC's rolling into Tucson on 10-25-2008, watch out, Finally the U of A (5-2) appears to have a team worth watching and they are on sort of a roll.....

Yep, they should run the table. Of the 12 games they will have played at least one top 25 ranked team in Ohio State. But then again, at least they don't have to play unranked Oregon State again.

5-3 Virginia-Unranked
7-1 Ohio State-Ranked 9
4-3 Oregon State-Unranked
5-2 Oregon-Unranked
2-4 Arizona State-Unranked
1-7 Washington State-Unranked
5-2 Arizona-Unranked
0-6 Washington-Unranked
4-2 California-Unranked
4-4 Stanford-Unranked
4-2 Notre Dame-Unranked
3-4 UCLA-Unranked

Edited to add stats

Arizona just cracked the top 25 in one of the poles, I'm not sure which one, but at least they are ranked by somebody. This Saturday should be a very decent game.

I just happened to turn the TX-TX Tech game on with 1:29 left in the game. Has to be one of the best endings I've seen in a very long time.

As for my home team, they stunk the place up big time. Last week, they gave the OU Sooners a run for their lives. This week, they shouldn't have even shown up - it was that bad. In the event that anyone else is looking for a piss poor head coach, K-State's will be available in the near future, from what I hear.

I am so disgusted with the BCS I could spit, just between you and me. It's some kind of computer weanie's joke. They need to dump it and go to a play off system.

Been that way since its inception. On a brighter note, KSU dumped their (our) coach this week. They gave him the option of quitting, but he refused, so they told him he can coach the remaining three games of the season then leave, or they'll just fire his ass when they get his replacement lined up. He still gets a 1.5M dollar contract buyout as his reward for totally tanking our team. Sounds like a gubmint job.

Good riddance.
