I was approached by the Chemung County Federation of Sportsmen out of NY last week to be auctioned off. That was a first for me. I thought, what the heck. I will be hunting with two guys for two days up in NY. The winner just happens to own 500 acres up in Elmira which is only an hour away.
The federation put on a really great charity benefit. I didn't find out how much they did raise total with all of the items, but I do know that I was the highest auction they had, bringing in $425.00 at the close of the hammer.
This benefit was for a member that was just recently diagnosed with leukemia. I'm feeling humbled that they asked me to be a part of it. What a great way to start out getting back on my feet from my cancer ordeal.
Yep... Life's pretty dang Good! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Too cool!!!!! So......what ya gonna hunt, & do they do the guiding or do you??
Sound like a great way to 'get back into the game' either way.

That's funny Ronnie, considering all that I learned from you!!! Guess I need to send YOU the check
Kokopelli... I'm sorry... yes, it was for a coyote hunt. Sometimes I forget that there is other things to hunt I'll do the calling and they will do the shooting. This guy is a real character, should be fun! ![[Cool]](cool.gif)

Kokopelli,
Don't worry, that just comes with being new to the area.
Along about noon, we start hunting for a shade tree, eat lunch, then take a siesta though the heat of the day, before restarting our daily coyote hunting.
You will soon learn, that the hunt for a shade tree, lunch and siesta, make for a very important part of a good day spent hunting ! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Tim, I'm one of those people who are not terribly bothered by the heat. I used to go out past Mojave into Jawbone Cyn. in Aug. or Sept and run after jackrabbits with a handgun in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Got a few too. Been doing quite a bit of riding my mountain bike lately. Morning, mid-day, evening.....doesn't matter much.
Mule; I really could have gone the rest of the day without that visual in my head.
